The Sims enables the player to take care of a virtual family of Sims. During the game the player must take care of various needs of his characters – starting with typically physiological ones (eating, toilet, hygiene etc.), through social relations, to career. The player has great freedom in expanding his family’s house, which can be furnished with various items that will be useful for the Sims. The gameplay mechanics are based on very simple principles and lack any violence, making the game a good title for casual players. A specific humor and large number of funny animations of character’s reactions are worth mentioning.

This is the first game developed by Panache Digital Games, a studio led by Patrice Désilets who previously worked for Ubisoft and THQ. Ancestors: The Humankind Odyssey takes the players through events that shaped mankind, such as creation of the first tools, agricultural revolution, the fall of the Roman empire, Wright brothers' first powered flight, landing on the Moon, or discovery of the human DNA. All of those events are presented in episodes.

An advanced farm simulator with RPG and life simulator features. The title was developed by Toplitz Productions. The player assumes the role of a rookie farmer who inherited a farm after his deceased grandparent. Protagonist’s task is to lead the ruined farm to prosperity and to earn enough money to modernize it. Farmer’s Dynasty features a vast open world that can be freely roamed (on foot and by using various vehicles; in addition to the inherited tractor the player can use more modern and advanced vehicles). The main pillar of the game are tasks that push the story forward. Among them there are objectives unrelated to farming – sometimes player must also repair some tools or modernize a specific building. The player’s duties also include breeding animals, selling surpluses of the crops. Later in the game the player can create a family and raise offspring.

The famous simulator developed by Czech SCS Software allows the players to sit behind the wheel of a huge, eighteen-wheel truck. In Hard Truck: 18 Wheels of Steel the players’ task is simple: deliver the chosen cargo before the deadline and without damage. During the game, players not only have to control the truck, but also face various trouble along the way, such as severe weather, car crashes, police control or leaking fuel. Players can chose from six trucks and sixteen types of cargo, the delivery of which yields some cash. The whole thing takes place in the United States of America – the American highways, to be more precise. The developers recreated thousands of miles of roads that stretch across eleven states, through cities, mountains and deserts.

Train Simulator 2017 is based on the same technology that powered the previous game. The story of Diluvion takes place in the distant future, where an apocalyptic flood has forced humanity to colonize the ocean depths. The gameplay is focused around exploration of a marine world of a considerable size, completing various tasks, and combat with encountered opponents. Our travels often require the use of a sonar, which helps in navigating dark areas, as well as ranged weapons in the form of torpedoes or even cannons. We’ve also received access to a crew management module – throughout our journeys, the individual crew members gather experience, acquiring new skills over time. For example, an experienced coxswain offers better maneuverability, while a talented cannoneer is much more accurate.

The players are given a lot of freedom of action in both cases, including the ability to construct their own spaceships and machines as well as to transform the environment.
