Counterstrike features sixteen new scenarios (eight for each of the factions) of various difficulty levels. A peculiar innovation is also the introduction of random special cards, capable of reversing the fate of more than one skirmish.

Although the game has two-dimensional graphics, the size of its world and the capabilities of the included editor are very impressive.

During the game we lead the troops of soldiers to the battle. An interesting fact is that we can choose their equipment and develop their skills by hand. The campaign is complemented by multiplayer mode.

The expansion named Divine Wind stays in the same time period as the base-version of the game and takes place between 1453-1789. The title concentrates particularly on the Far East, which influences and slightly changes the gameplay. Moreover, set on the Asian coast of Pacific, the game features dozens of new villages that you can raid.

The game is a free-to-play MMO with microtransactions and, just like any other game from the series, it takes the players into a dark, medieval world, in which they have to create their own kingdoms. Similarly to its predecessor, Assault Squad 2: Men of War Origins is a war game taking place during WWII. Instead of classic base-building or gathering resources, the whole attention has been focused on tactical aspects and commanding units.
