Battlefield 2042: Content of EA's 'Love Letter' May Have Leaked as Early as March

A well-known insider has come forward with information claiming that EA's as yet undisclosed third game mode in Battlefield 2042 will be a hub, enabling us to choose different historical eras and equipment.

Although Electronic Arts announced Battlefield 2042 two days ago, it decided to keep us in suspense about its content. Therefore, we learned about only two of the three modes that are to be included in the game (Total War and Danger Zone) - the third one, described as a "love letter" to fans of the series, is to be officially revealed only on July 22 at the EA Play Live show.

Meanwhile, well-known and quite reliable insider Tom Henderson announced on Twitter (see above) that he has acquired information according to which the third component of the online shooter from EA DICE will be a kind of hub, which will enable us to choose the historical era and weaponry. What's interesting, information about the mode appeared already in March - the leak at that time suggested that the said hub will be the mainstay of new Battlefield's multiplayer (it was also supposed to include a single player campaign, which as we now know, won't be there) and not just an option to choose from, but despite being quickly debunked, it may have contained a grain of truth.

Tom Henderson promised to verify the received information and screenshots, but admitted that such a game formula could indeed be a kind of "love letter". Let's remind - it's about a mode, in which (depending on the battle) we're supposed to be able to choose specific historical setting, and sometimes even mix different elements freely, for example, using an M1 Abrams tank during the Second World War. This means the fans would get a tool, enabling them to create unusual battles.

It all sounds very good and quite likely, but remember that until Electronic Arts officially reveals the third game mode in Battlefield 2042, all such information should be treated as rumors and with caution.

Battlefield 2042 is scheduled for release on October 22 on PC, XONE, XSX|S, PS4 and PS5. In early July, EA is expected to hold beta tests , which will be attended by veterans of the series from across the U.S. and Europe. Above you can see the trailer for the upcoming game.
