Biomutant Playthrough Time Revealed

Biomutant from Experiment 101 is to provide about 12-15 hours of fun... if we hurry. Slow players, who want to explore every nook and cranny of the world and complete all tasks, are expected to spend up to 65 hours with the game.

May will be full of big launches - one of them will be Biomutant from Experiment 101, schedulef for May 25. Set in a colorful post-apocalyptic world, the action RPG will enable us to play as a human-animal hybrid and offer at least 12-15 hours of gameplay. This information was provided in an interview for GamingBolt by Stefan Ljungqvist, the game's director. The Swede admitted, however, that completing the title in this time would require skipping most side quests and dialogues and focusing only on the main story.

“Our estimation for a ‘rushed’ run-through of Biomutant is at about 12-15 hours. This means: focus on the main story, skip most dialogues, don’t go wandering off for exploration and ignore sidequests. On the other hand, one of our team-members is just giving Biomutant a go the way he usually plays games. He isn’t done yet and has about 65 hours of playtime. So it really depends on what type of player you are.”

The gap between 12 and 65 hours is very large, and the most likely scenario seems to be one in which a playthough of Biomutant will take the average player an average amount of time from that bracket, such as about 30-40 hours. Such a variation is nothing strange in the case of RPGs - according to HowLongToBeat, completing the main plot of Cyberpunk 2077 takes about 22 hours. It takes, however, as much as 58 hours to complete most side quests and partialy clear the Night City map, and even 100 or more hours to do everything - including unlocking all achievements.

Biomutant will be released on May 25th on PC, PS4, XONE, thanks to backward compatibility the game will also be available on PS5 and XSX|S (from the beginning it will also be available in EA Play Pro subscription). Whie waiting, you can watch the extensive gameplay video and how the character creator will look like, and users of desktops will surely breathe a sigh of relief when they take a look at the modest system requirements.
