CD Projekt's New RPG Details Revealed

CD Projekt informed that their yet unannounced RPG title will be released before 2021. The company also revealed some details about the project.

CD Projekt has released a report on its financial results for the past year. It contains an interesting mention of the team's future plans. According to them, a secret project, which they have been working on for several years, will be published before 2021. As it comes, the company still adheres to the plans from 2016, when the new project was first mentioned.

The production is described as an "AAA RPG". Adam Kicinski, the company's CEO, clearly stated that it will be something new, not a port of an older hit. In addition, he asked not to draw premature conclusions regarding the subject matter of the project. Fans counting on The Witcher 4 should, therefore, refrain from opening their champagne bottles. It may well be a brand new IP or a position se in the Cyberpunk 2077 universe.

Kicinski added that the team working on the secret project is an order of magnitude smaller than the one working on CP2077. So we are talking about around 50 people. It was emphasized that this is a production different from both the third Witcher and Cyberpunk 2077 and therefore its production costs will not be as high. In other words, we are not talking about an open world with lots of quests.

Apart from Cyberpunk 2077 CD Projekt is working on one more large RPG.

There are several other noteworthy fragments in the report. CD Projekt predicts that in the coming quarters the company will invest many resources on the development and marketing of Cyberpunk 2077. In particular, the mention of significant expenses on promotion suggests that the work on the project may be slowly coming to an end.

It is worth mentioning that during the discussion of financial results Adam Kicinski stated that this year's E3 trade fair will be the most important in the history of the company. In addition, he revealed that Cyberpunk 2077 marketing has so far reached more than 250 million people.

CD Project is still growing in strength. The report states that the company has recently acquired a new building in Warsaw, located next to the existing office, which is expected to employ an additional 250-300 people.
