Diablo 4 Loot Drops Not Dependent on Items Owned - Fan Theory Debunked

Diablo 4 players have begun to inquire into the systems behind loot. There was a theory about the relationship between item drops and items those in the player's inventory. Blizzard, however, denied these reports.

One of the objects of player complaints aimed at Diablo 4 was certainly the loot drop rate; players were often frustrated by the necessity of a monstrous grind, which still did not provide the certainty of obtaining a unique item. Of course, uniques should drops infrequently, but in the opinion of many they were too rare.

The situation was somewhat remedied by patch 1.1.1, which improved, among other things, the density of monsters in Helltides or Nightmare Dungesons, which enabled the players to earn more experience points and loot. Nevertheless, this did not stop them from coming up with an interesting theory, according to which loot depends on what you have in your inventory.

The "conspiracy" theory in Diablo 4

As cited by one Reddit user, a Chinese player conducted tests, which concluded that the game probably "scans the inventory for legendary items."

How did he come to such conclusions? The player progressed the character to about level 60 and noticed that at earlier levels unique drops were much more common. After that, when several unique items appeared in his inventory, the chance for a rare artifact has supposedly decreased dramatically. Apparently, on Asian servers, many players complained about a similar problem.

Blizzard decided to respond to these allegations, denying any dependence of loot on the quality of items in the inventory.

"This is not true. The coefficients are independent of the items you have both in your inventory and in caches," said Adam Fletcher, community director.

It seems that players are simply angry with the random number generator. What to do - rare items probably have to remain rare.
