First Reviews of Forspoken are In; No Surprizes

Reviews of Forspoken suggest that the game is unlikely to compete for the title of game of the year, but neither will it end up on the 2023 list of the worst representatives of the action RPG genre.

First reviews of Forspoken have appeared online. The new work of the creators of Final Fantasy XV will hit PC and PlayStation 5 today. So it would be appropriate to check whether the pre-release fears of players were justified, or whether we received a good game after all.

You will still have to wait for our review. We will receive the game only at the premiere.

Forspoken definitely failed to impress reviewers, although it also did not perform as disastrously as some gamers suggested after interacting with last year's demo. The few high marks are offset by a similar number of lows and plenty of average ratings. Even combat and parkour exploration - the game's greatest strengths according to most reviewers - did not appeal to everyone. Many elements of the game divided the journalists who had the opportunity to check out Square Enix's new work.

Perhaps it is easier to point out which elements did not work in Forspoken. The story is cliche and does not encourage exploration of the world of Athia (although both the story and exploration in the game have their fans), and the beginning may even discourage interaction with the title. Later on it gets better, but - as some journalists claim - the game never realizes its full potential.

This is basically all that at least most reviewers agree on. So it seems that Forspoken is not a big hit, but at most a decent proposition for action RPG fans. Gamers will verify the opinions of journalists soon. In the meantime, PC gamers are advised to check out the system requirements of Forspoken - they at least are above average.
