Senior Producer Leaves The Sims 4 After 14 Years in Maxis

Sad news for The Sims community. After many successes and over 14 years of work, a senior producer of The Sims 4 has unexpectedly left Maxis, the studio responsible for the popular life simulator.

After you've worked long enough on something, it's time for a change, or at least that's how Michael Duke, senior producer, explains his sudden departure from Maxis. The willingness to make that change came from a developer known to The Sims community as SimGuruDuke after more than 14 years of successful work on the development of The Sims Mobile and later The Sims 4, among other titles. Duke informed about his resignation on his Twitter, which he deactivated a moment later. Mike Duke's official goodbye also appeared on The Sims' Twitter.

Duke's unexpected departure from Maxis is all the more strange due to his last year's promotion to senior producer on The Sims 4. The position was previously held by Grant Rodiek, who was dismissed from co-creation of The Sims last April and assigned to new tasks.
