Vampire: Bloodlines 2 Will be Finished by Walking Simulator Experts (Leak)

There are many indications that the long-awaited Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 may be completed by the small British studio The Chinese Room, known for Dear Esther, among other titles.

Considering the events of the past two years, it can be said that Vampire: The Masquerade - Bloodlines 2 is burdened by a kind of curse. The game, first rumors of which appeared back in 2018, has already been delayed several times, lost its developer, and at its worst moment - almost got scrapped. Fortunately, Paradox Interactive found the right team to complete the project started by Hardsuit Labs.

This was evidenced by last year's assurances of Paradox's chief financial officer Alexander Bricca about the satisfactory progress of the work on Bloodlines 2. According to reports at the time, the new home for the project became a "developer with a strong reputation among gamers". This, of course, fueled a carousel of speculation about the mysterious studio. Unfortunately, we haven't received any details on the matter - until now.

And although it is not confirmed in any way, there are many indications. this supposedly respected team may be The Chinese Room, which has developed such games as the adventure games Dear Esther and Everybody's Gone to the Rapture, the horror game Amnesia: A Machine for Pigs and the platformer Little Orpheus.

What makes us think that this independent British developer is working on Bloodlines 2? One Reddit user came across a lead on the matter while reviewing video footage on the channel The Chinese Room channel on YouTube. One of the videos (shared below) shows a glimpse of a monitor with an open menu, almost identical to that of the game in question, presented in 2019 videos.

Of course, this is not clear evidence of The Chinese Room's involvement in the project, but as noted by The Load Out, given the increased search for employees by the British studio in recent months, something may be afoot.

Finally, it's worth mentioning that journalists from the aforementioned website have contacted Paradox Interactive for a comment, but at the time of writing they have not yet received a response.
