Warzone Cheatmakers Targeted by Activision's Lawyers

Popular creators of cheats for CoD: Warzone have received a letter from Activision, in which they are urged to cease operations. As a result, the suppliers of illegal software have decided to go out of business.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Activision has forced a group of CoD: Warzone cheatmakers to cease operations;
  2. Team X22 has received a ceased & desist letter warning that the company may take legal action against illegal software providers.

Another battle won in the great war against cheaters in online games. News broke on the Internet that Activision forced a major provider of cheats for CoD: Warzone to cease operations. Most likely it's a group of French cheatmakers at Team X22 (via Dexerto).

A post from the group's Discord has been published on Reddit; we learn from it that the authors of prohibited software have received a ceased &desist letter from Activision, i.e. a warning that if they do not stop distributing cheats, they will face legal consequences.

An excerpt from this "goodbye" may be shocking to mere mortals, but yes, it looks like a very emotional message to a close-knit community that has to part ways with its favorite developer. It's a shame that we're talking about makers of tools that spoil the game for hundreds, if not thousands of players around the world.

The part about "free exchange of cheats for those unrelated to Call of Duty games" may also be shocking. Unfortunately, in the case of Warzone the last sentence - "lawyers are more effective than anit-cheat" turns out to be painfully true. Let's hope that this solution works in the long run; if the cheaters aren't convinced by bans, maybe the goal will be achieved by eliminating the source of the problem - the cheatmakers.
