It seems that many people can’t join Battlefield 6 right now, instead they see that it requires Early Access. If you are one of them, we have the answer you are looking for.
Battlefield 6 is finally here. Well, at least the beta. Right now we have the first chance to test the game in a larger group… and let’s be honest, it is not the smooth ride for many. People experience crashes or issues with matchmaking, causing them to go back to the queue once again. However, some players don’t have a chance to play at all. Many of them see an enigmatic sign that “Battlefield 6 requires Early Access.” We have some answers for you.
If you are asking yourself “why I can’t play Battlefield 6 Beta,” the probable answer (but not the only one, read further to learn more) is that you can’t at this point. While the version we play is called “Battlefield 6 Open Beta” (via SteamDB), it is not open for all, right now we can join Early Access. To take part in it you need a code. Which is distributed quite generously and could be dropped during the Twitch event (I am not sure if the codes are left at this point), but still it is not free to join for all. So, if you don’t have the code, now you know why you see this information. The Beta will be truly open tomorrow. You can see the full schedule here.
However, there are numerus people who should be able to take part in Early Access and can’t. That’s the unexpected problem. The good news is that developers are aware of the issue and acknowledged it on the Official Discord.
We're investigating this issue based on your reports. Currently you can try restarting your game client and see if that solves it. We'll keep you posted!
Of course, we are in the middle of Early Access already, so it is not a great comfort for you that developers know about the issue, while you still can’t play. Fortunately, we should all be able to play tomorrow. All you can do is to be patient. Sadly, you can’t do anything about it. Good luck.
