Pillars Of Eternity 2: The Sacred Stair - Map

The above map presents The Sacred Stair. It's one of the six main districts of city of Neketaka, which is the largest location in Pillars of Eternity 2 Deadfire. This is a temple district, cause there are many temples within its area. In every temple you can meet with various NPCs to get quests and tasks. There are many merchants in the area and also one skill trainer.

Important locations in The Sacred Stair

1. Magrana's Temple. You can chat with priest Hati about the temple.

Mark van der Bij is a skill trainer - you can raise the Alchemy and Religion skills of your character by 1 skill point, but it costs 3000 gold pieces.

You can find a homeless cat here - it's a pupil called Pozzi (+1 to level of all abilities with key word Fire).

2. Hanging Sepulchers. This dungeon contains some high-level monsters (your team needs to be at least at 11-12 level!). It's also linked to the Eulogy for the Dead. You can get inside through the main entrance, but you need The Eel's Coil from priest Kasu (M14,3)). Alternative way leads by interaction with a tree - use the grapple hook and complete interactive scene. Full map of Hanging Sepulchers is available on the other page of the guide - M31.

3. Berath's Temple. You can rob a few dead bodies. Closed chest with a trap and lock of level 7 contains potions, books and gold. Priest Kasu will give you a side quest Eulogy for the Dead and also an item called The Eel's Coil, which is required to enter Hanging Sepulchers (M14,2).

4. Spire of Soul Prophets. Flaune Elette resides on the roof of the building and gives a side quest A Glimpse Beyond. Note - confirmation of readiness immediately takes the team to the Beast of Winter Land!

Ydwin wants to join the team - you can recruit her, negate or attack her.

Here, you will find Luminous Adra Column - it may come in handy during Xoti's personal quest - The Lantern of Gaun.

5. Market. Tiabo he is a merchant - he sells the animated cat (pupil: +2 do Metaphysics, +1 to Arcana), unique belt, ring and head cap, and also other items like potions and lots of alchemy ingredients.

Temple merchant sells a knife, cloak, gadgets, potions, traps and alchemy ingredients.

Okauro gives tasks from the Bounty category.

7. Gaun's Temple. Adaryc knows the hero - the conversation relates to decisions made in Pillars of Eternity 1.

Acolyte Eothas can be given 100 gold pieces or you can take some food, or even use Sleight of Hand 8 to rob him unnoticed.

In the temple you may find a pupil - a cat called Frau Nils (+3 melee strike accuracy).

Nordagand is related with personal quest of Edera called Oswiecona Droga - you will get information on her about Elafa's whereabouts.

If you didn't join Xoti to your party during your exploration of Port Maje Harbor on Maje Island (M3) then you can find her in the temple (Xoti left Port Maje and reached Neketaka). There, the game will allow you to join Xoti to your party.

Quests to unlock in The Sacred Stair

[Quest] Eulogy of the Dead - talk with Priest Kasu (M14,3).

[Vailian Trading Company] A Glimpse Beyond - talk with Flaune Elette (M14,4) and check in your journal, whether the team is ready to move to the land where the quest is completed.

[Task] Bounty - Talk with Okauro (M14,5). He assigns several tasks from this category. The first concerns the tracing and murdering of Silent Dhwrgas.

Skill trainers in The Sacred Stair

Mark van der Bij (M14,1) - For 3000 gold pieces you can raise the Alchemy and Religion skills of your character by 1 skill point.

Xoti (M14,7) - she only appears here if you haven't already recruited her to your party on Maje Island (M3). This is your second chance to add Xoti to your party.

Other information concerning The Sacred Stair

The Sacred Stair is one of the few locations in the game world where you can meet a skills trainer. If you can't afford to pay for the training right away (or don't need to improve the skills related to this form of training at any cost), you can return here later in the game.

Hanging Sepulchers and The Land of Beast of Winter may be significantly beyond the abilities of a beginner team. The exploration of these two optional locations is worthwhile in later parts of the game, after you gain some experience.
