Which skills of Eve are worth unlocking first? On this page of our Stellar Blade guide, you can find a list of recommended skills for Eve. They are divided according to the trees they are found on - these are Attack, Beta, Survival, Tachy, and Burst.

The list below includes only the most recommended skills that can be purchased with skill points. There are certain skills that are obtained for free thanks to progress in the main story.

Attack

1 - Stellar Blade: Best skills - Basics - Stellar Blade Guide
  1. Ambush (1 SP) - this skill unlocks stealth attacks, and we describe this mechanic in detail on How to perform stealth attacks? page of our guide. We also recommend buying an upgrade for this skill called Chain Charge (2 SP) that allows striking a second enemy after executing the first one.
  2. Beta Chain (2 SP) - the final attack of the combination will deal extra damage (holding the button). The attack will deal more damage, stun the enemy and replenish a portion of your energy.

Survival

2 - Stellar Blade: Best skills - Basics - Stellar Blade Guide
  1. Focus Boost (2 SP) - this is a very important upgrade that makes performing Perfect Parries much easier. The window for the Perfect Parry will be longer.
  2. Reflex Boost (2 SP) - this is a similar upgrade to the above, but this time Perfect Dodges are easier.
  3. Double Dodge (2 SP) - this skill allows performing 2 dodges in a row. This will be immensely useful e.g. when facing enemies that launch combinations of powerful attacks that are difficult to mitigate.
  4. Repulse (1 SP) - thanks to this ability, you can now react to purple attacks (activated by analog stick down + Circle) that the enemies will start to use as the campaign progresses.
  5. Threat Detection (2 SP) - performing Blink and Repulse is now easier, as the window of opportunity to respond to blue and purple attacks is longer.

Beta

We describe how to gain access to Burst tree on How to unlock hidden skill trees - Stellar Blade: Best skills - Basics - Stellar Blade Guide
  1. Damage Boost - Triplet (2 SP) - Triplet is in our opinion, the best Beta ability and buying this upgrade will increase the damage dealt by it.
  2. Quadruplet (3 SP) - this upgrade adds an additional attack to the Triplet combination - press L1 + Square again to make Eve perform an additional strong stab. We also recommend buying Impact Enhancement (stunning enemies) and Finishing Blow Increase (throwing enemies off-balance).

Burst

We describe how to gain access to Burst tree on How to unlock hidden skill trees? page from our FAQ chapter.

We describe how to gain access to Tachy tree on How to unlock hidden skill trees - Stellar Blade: Best skills - Basics - Stellar Blade Guide
  1. Descending Break (1 SP) - This is a very strong Burst attack activated by pressing R1 + Triangle. Eve performs a powerful strike from the air that can stagger groups of monsters. Make sure to buy upgrades for it on a regular basis.
  2. Overdrive (1 SP) - this is only ability from this tree that isn't a direct attack. Instead, activating it will increase Eve's damage dealt and attack speed temporarily. It is worth using it, e.g. during boss encounters. Make sure to buy upgrades for it on a regular basis.

Tachy

We describe how to gain access to Tachy tree on How to unlock hidden skill trees? page from our FAQ chapter.

3 - Stellar Blade: Best skills - Basics - Stellar Blade Guide
  1. Revenge (2 SP) - after activating Tachy Mode, by pressing L1 + Cross, Eve can automatically counter enemy attacks.
  2. Judgment Time (4 SP) - a very important upgrade that lengthens the duration of Tachy Mode.
