Stellar Blade: Are there maps?
In Stellar Blade, can it call up a location map? This guide page explains how to access the location map, what can appear on the map and how to deal with areas without a map.
Having a map may help when exploring some of the more complex and extensive locations of Stellar Blade, but you won't be able to use it right from the beginning. On this page of our guide, we show how to unlock location maps, what map markers you should pay attention to, and what to do if a location map is unavailable.
Unlocking and using the location map
- In the initial hours of the game, you won't be able to consult the map - this means the prologue and the first visit to Eidos 7.
- A workaround for the unavailable map may be using the Scan option at a regular basis. Apart from opponents, a Scan marks e.g. loot, containers, or corpses that can be searched. Also, try to find and explore optional locations - those that the main mission marker doesn't lead you to. Many of such locations contain valuable loot.

The location map is unlocked for the first time after reaching Xion - you need to go through a few conversations with optional characters to unlock the free exploration of the city and thus the map. You can view the map by choosing its tab in the pause menu or by swiping the finger up on the touchpad.
Apart from an overview of the location, there will be various markers appearing on it. We recommend paying particular attention to:
- exclamation marks - these are starting locations of Citizens' Requests - side missions;
- Camps and Phone Booths - these places allow resting or using fast travel;
- shops - they sell consumables and various unique items (e.g. new outfits, gear);
- bulletin boards - you can approach them for smaller optional tasks.

- An important information here is that not all markers are immediately visible on the map and some of them you have to discover first during free exploration. This primarily concerns new camps and phone booths - try to look for them when exploring locations.
- The map also doesn't mark important NPCs - you need find them first. Talk to NPCs as they appear - there is a chance of meeting e.g. a new merchant or a person connected to a current quest.
Don't stop using Scan even with the location map unlocked. It will still be immensely useful e.g. to explore a location completely.
Locations without a map

- Not all visited locations have a map. When trying to open the map in such an area, you'll receive a message that data cannot be accessed. In such cases, you need to explore on your own and use Scan (if it is allowed in the given location).
