Stellar Blade: How to beat Maelstrom?

You must face boss Maelstrom in story mission Altess Levoire, which takes place in the titular underground location in Stellar Blade. In this part of the guide, you will learn how to use ranged attacks to weaken Maelstrom, how to react to its basic attacks, and how to replenish ammunition during a confrontation with the monster.

How to get to the boss?

1. In the final part of the underground structure, Eve will reach the supply camp at the location called Bottom of the Heart of the Infection. Use the camp, among other things, to replenish the heroine's ammunition supplies.
2. Next to the camp there is a long ladder. Using it will lead you to the boss's lair shown in the picture.

How to defeat the boss?

1. Similarly to the rest of the visit to Altess Levoire, you can only attack the boss with ranged weapons (various types of drone missiles). The use of melee weapons is prohibited throughout the entire base.

1. Switch between different types of ammunition. You can replenish its supplies from ordinary enemies spawned by Maelstrom. Kill them with a few shots and run up to the places where they died. Be careful, however, because crawling test objects can explode - this will happen after they light up in yellow (example in the picture). Quickly move away from the explosion sites.

1. Initially, try to aim for the yellow points on the boss's body.
2. Keep a safe distance from Maelstrom to avoid, e.g. projectiles with body fluids. Some of them may quickly crash into the ground around the boss, while others may fly slowly - shoot them down in flight if you consider them a threat to Eve.

1. Watch for the moment when the main mouth of Maelstrom lights up. Then focus on dealing as much damage to it as you can, to take as many health points as possible from the temporarily weakened boss.

1. The boss's dangerous ranged attack is shooting a large stream of energy. Maelstrom signals the attack and you should start running sideways in advance.
2. After depleting Maelstrom's entire health bar, you don't have to additionally finish off the boss. A scene with the creature's death will start immediately.
