How to find the book with documents?

In Disco Elysium, the task Find your paperwork requires you to locate the ledger that every RCM officer needs to have at their disposal and one that Harry has unfortunately misplaced. The task will automatically complete as soon as you find the lost item.

How to open the container?

The ledger can be found in a locked trash container at the back of the Whirling-In-Rags hotel building. The container may be opened in two ways:

1. Key: enter the hotel and ask Lawrence Garte for the key and he will simply give it to you;
2. Brute force: you need to use the prybar and succeed in the legendary Physical Instrument skill check, which may fail if your character does not have enough points in it.
