In the Replace lost boule task in Disco Elysium, a metal ball must be found so that Rene and Gaston can continue their petanque game.
In this task, you can get the Coach Physical Instrument thought when you throw a ball into the water.
You'll get the task when you try to pass the Hand/Eye Coordination skill check to show men how petanque should be played (Grab the ball and show them how it's done). Unfortunately, Harry won't do very well and the bullet will land in the water.
Note - you only have one attempt. If the skill check fails, the task will not be activated. If you skip the throw attempt, it will happen too. In addition, increasing knowledge of the game through conversation will lower the chance of success of the skill check.
You'll find a Shotput Ball under a bench in the abandoned gym at the back of the bookstore, in the Doomed Commercial Area. Take it and go back to Rene and Gaston, and the task will be done.
You don't have to finish this task - the ball is worth more than 10 Real so you can sell it. Giving the ball back will slightly improve your relationship with men (white skill checks) and provides 10 XP.
