Disco Elysium: Open the blast door - walkthrough

To continue with the main storyline after arriving on the Island in Disco Elysium, you will need to complete the Open the blast door quest. Our guide shows where to look for the blast door, how to use the console to open the way forward, and how to reach a new part of the island where the sought sniper - The Deserter - is found.

Unlocking the task

This is one of the tasks appearing after arriving on the Island - you'll find a way to reach it during the Go to the Island task.

Start exploring the island and find the anti-aircraft tower. After entering the large bunker, examine the blast door found north-west (screenshot). They are locked shut and cannot be opened with brute force.

Using the console and unlocking the way forward

While in the bunker, head south-east. In the spot marked in the screenshot, there is a console that controls the blast door. When you try to use it, it turns out that there isn't enough fuel - obtaining it is the goal of a separate Find fuel for the generator task.

After resupplying the generator, return to the same console. You can now open the blast door and your reward will be 15XP.

The blast door leads to a new part of the island where Deserter is found - confronting him is part of an important Extract a confession from The Deserter task.
