The gameplay mechanics of Candleman are based on principles of three-dimensional platform games. The player is traveling through locations, jumping between platforms and avoiding traps and dangers – all while solving environmental riddles based on light and shadow mechanics. Due to the fact that during majority of the game the player moves in darkness, the key to success lies in good usage of protagonist’s ability to light up his imminent surroundings in order to find the exit. Other candles encountered during the journey can be helpful as well. The game features attractive, dark graphics that – together with atmospheric soundtrack – create an unusual mood.

We play once again as Bayek, who this time goes to the Sinai peninsula and gets dragged into a conflict between Egyptian rebels and Roman occupants. This lets us witness another chapter in the history of the Assassin Order, the rise of which we could see in the base title. Assassin’s Creed: Origin – The Hidden Ones doesn’t change any of game’s mechanics – the only thing that developers from Ubisoft Montreal have changed was increasing the amount of experience our character can earn. Other than that, the add-on focuses on introducing new arena, where we can find both main story missions and various side activities.

Sometimes, one has to steal something or eliminate a VIP; however, most of the time one is bound to spend on fighting multiple enemies. Combat combines the elements featured in Hotline Miami and SUPERHOT. Nonetheless, it delivers new mechanics such as slow motion and active pause system. The developers have also implemented a number of gadgets including a teleporter allowing the player to switch places with an enemy and the ability to destroy certain modules of the stations. All this makes the combat filled with opportunities for the player to turn the tide in his favor and perform spectacular kills. Heat Signature delivers only a single player experience. Even though the game lacks a multiplayer mode, the developers decided to implement a special activity, in which one can rescue the captured friends' characters and choose these characters when playing the campaign.

Having reached the surface, the characters discover that their world has been invaded by monsters. It soon turns out that they have to cooperate with their enemy, the Empire, in order to put an end to the threat posed by the monsters. Mechanics-wise, Avernum 3 is an old-school RPG with a turn-based combat system. The player creates a team of four characters and develops their skills to one's liking alongside progression. Dozens of towns and dungeons are waiting for the player - their fate depends both on the player's actions and attacks of the monsters. An unusual RPG developed by Asymmetric. The game is heavily inspired by the slapstick comedies and takes the player to a land resembling the Wild West. The main protagonist of the game is a daredevil, who wants to start a new chapter of his life, so he leaves his family farm and sets off on a journey to the town of Frisco. West of Loathing delivers a vast open world filled with NPCs, who assign numerous tasks, puzzles waiting to be solved, and enemies the player has to fight during turn-based battles. Depending on one’s choice, the main protagonist can represent one of three separate classes – the appearance, on the other hand, can be modified according to one’s own preferences, by donning one of the fifty available hats. As one progresses through the game, they increase their character’s combat potential by acquiring new types of weapons and improving stats and abilities. The game delivers rather simplistic visuals that resemble sketches created by the students in the back of their notebooks.

Developed by Wargaming, World of Warships Blitz is an action game allowing the player to participate in online naval battles fought by mighty warships, mainly from the period of World War II. The game is based on a free-to-play model with optional microtransactions. During the development process, the members of Wargaming wanted to create a simpler version of World of Warships (available on PC / Windows), which would be more suitable for the nature of mobile gaming. The gameplay is less complex, while the battles are much more dynamic - this combined with smaller maps and teams makes each battle last no longer than 10 minutes; nonetheless, the game has retained a degree of realism. The ships are heavy, slow, and not very maneuverable. All the units feature elaborate damage mechanics. Fighting long distance battles requires a lot of effort. All this makes for a tactical experience - instead of those with best reflexes, players who can plan several steps ahead are bound to succeed.

Cricket Captain 2017 features 130 teams from eight countries, new 20-over leagues from West India, Pakistan, South Africa and Bangladesh as well as national leagues from West India and Pakistan. Additionally, the developers created scenarios that allow the players to play historical matches and additional statistics, e.g. stadium and international records. Even though the game was developed mainly for single player mode, it also offers the option to face other players online. The last changes that are worth mentioning are better interface and improved 3D engine for matches.

Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar is an action RPG developed by Cleve Blakenmore – an independent developer. The game pays homage to the dungeon crawler genre, being inspired by such iconic productions as Wizardry, Might & Magic, Lands of Lore, Anvil of Dawn, Dungeon Master, and Eye of The Beholder. The players get to explore the fantastical world of Hyperborea, where, in search for the Metronome Mysterium – a lunar clock that maintains the balance between the chaos and order – they face hordes of enemies, use elaborate spells and a rich arsenal of weapons, armor, and additional pieces of gear. Both beginning and the end of one journey are entirely dependent on the decisions made by the player. Grimoire: Heralds of the Winged Exemplar offers many challenges featuring logical puzzles, side quests, minigames, as well as rich and interactive dungeons.

Developed by the Dutch developer Bohemia Interactive in cooperation with the International Committee of the Red Cross, Laws of War is a large expansion to the popular military simulator Arma III, published in 2013. The main element of the expansion is the new, however relatively short, story campaign, in which the player assumes the role of Nathan MacDade – a bomb disposal expert working for the International Development & Aid Project (IDAP). His main objective is to disarm mines and unexploded ordnance remaining after the war between two fictional factions. Dade agrees to an interview with an investigative journalist, which forms a story background for the consecutive missions. Along with the new expansion, the players are given an entirely new faction – IDAP, which uses special equipment and numerous gadgets (e.g. a drone). The new faction also has a special vehicle, equipped with gear fitting one’s needs and parameters of the task at hand.
