When the artifact that has prevented the waters from flooding the metropolis looses its power, the inhabitants of Katta Castrum request help from the heroes of Norrath. The expansion pack brings new story-based quests, side missions, additional items, abilities and spells for one's character, but also introduces different changes and improvements into the mechanics. Above all, the players can now establish their own brotherhoods - particular members can talk to one another in separate chat channels, as well as relocate to where the others are. Furthermore, guilds can be equipped with unique banners, serving the role of fast-travel destination points. As usual, The Buried Sea expansion is powered by improved technology of the core EverQuest.
