The fourth expansion to a first-person survival horror - Alien: Isolation, developed by Creative Assembly. Like the previous expansion to the game (Safe Heaven), the Lost Contact DLC is a variation of the game’s Survivor Mode. However, in this particular DLC, the player returns to the Sebastopol space station and assumes the role of Axel. Gameplay mechanics build on the exploration of a new map, which now includes private Lorenz quarters and the station’s backup power generator area. The mission introduced by Lost Contact is divided into 10 challenges and features significantly higher difficulty level resulting from the fact that this time around the players have to fight off enemy waves of androids, humans and the Alien itself. In comparison the previous Alien: Isolation expansions, Lost Contact significantly stands out - during the mission, players have a lot of ground to cover. Moreover, should one fall in battle, he has to start all over, since he failed to complete the task he was assigned with. What makes it all slightly easier is the ability to construct useful items - this includes some new weapons such as a revolver or a crossbow. For completing this new mission, a player is rewarded with various items and perks.

Strategy, Crowdfunding, Indie Games, Internet, Multiplayer, Singleplayer, War Strategy, Turn-based, Cold War.
A digital adaptation of the strategy board game created by American company GMT Games. Twilight Struggle takes place during the Cold War and the player assumes the role of a leader of one of the two empires – USA or USSR. The game is played in turns on a global map. The rivaling sides are playing with cards that trigger events beneficial for one, either, or neither side of the conflict. The cards can be used for things such as strengthening one’s position, at the cost of the opponent, or technological development. At the same time both sides must be careful as escalation of the conflict can lead to a nuclear holocaust. The “What if?” mode is an interesting addition. It allows playing in an alternative reality in which, for example, whole Berlin was conquered by the western nations and the elections in England in 1945 were once again won by Churchill and his conservative party. The base of the gameplay in Twilight Struggle is a rivalry between two players, but there is also a single player mode available, in which one faces artificial intelligence.

Adventure, FPP, Horror, Indie Games, Singleplayer.
An independent adventure game that introduces players to an atmosphere of uttermost terror. In Seclusion: Islesbury, one assumes the role of detective Jason Endel, who handles the investigation on a mysterious murder. The game takes place in the titular city of Islesbury, which long ago has fallen into ruin and become deserted due to mass riots. The main protagonist attempts to solve an unclosed investigation from a decade before. However, his stay in Islesbury is unexpectedly turned into a nightmare. The gameplay builds on mechanics that are typical for point-and-click adventure games. A player observes the action from the first-person perspective and gets to explore dark locations both in the city and in the nearby woods. During the game, one is bound to spend a considerable amount of time on solving numerous logic puzzles that require the player to think on his feet and connect facts or combine certain items. As the story develops, Jason discovers the truth from the past. Seclusion: Islesbury has been clearly inspired by the works of the famous horror writer - H.P. Lovecraft. The grim story is well complemented by the dark atmosphere of the locations.

A multiplayer-oriented strategy game created by a team of three programmers: Ron Carmel, Noel Llopis and Shane Nakamura. Subterfuge is set under the surface of seas, when colonies that have co-existed peacefully so far, begin fighting one another over an incredibly valuable resource known as Neptunium. The player's goal here is to achieve global domination. Each player controls their city-state and tries to gain the upper hand by moving their submarines. The game offers relatively unusual mechanics, because execution of plans based on the player's decision can take even several hours; the game goes on, while the player can be either taking care of something completely different or spending time talking to the other participants in order to make alliances, exchange information or, for instance, deceive them.

A continuation of the famous combat flight simulator series, Il-2 Sturmovik, developed, like the previous installment in the series, by the team at 777, working under the aegis of 1C Company. As the subtitle suggests, the action of the game once again takes us to the Eastern Front during the World War II, where we are involved in key air operations of the turn of 1941 and 1942, including the eponymous battle of Moscow. In terms of mechanics the game does not introduce any changes when compared with its predecessor released year and a half earlier, offering a somewhat simplified model of control. During the game we can join one of the parties of the conflict (Russians or Germans), each providing us eight brand new machines, including: I-16 type 24, MiG-3, Il-2 model 1941, and Pe-2 35 series (the Russian side) and Bf 109 E-7, Bf 109 F-2, Bf 110 E-2, and Ju 88 A-4 (German side). We have to avoid traps and collect as much treasures as possible, which, considering how dangerous those dungeons can be, is not an easy task. The game offers an asynchronous multiplayer, just like Clash of Clans. Some players try to rob dungeons, while others try their best to make their creations as thief-proof as possible. Call of Champions was developed by the creators of Arcane Legends, Battle Command, Star Legend, and Arcane Battleground. The game differs from other productions of the genre, mostly because it focuses on quick, five-minutes-long battles. The general mechanics stay the same: two opposing teams have to get through the others' defenses and destroy the enemy's base. The duration of the battles, however, means that the mechanics are simplified. For example, Call of Champions doesn't feature AI opponents or item shops. On the other hand, from the beginning you have access to many characters and powerful abilities and there is no need to work long and hard to unlock them. The game features attractive, slightly cartoonish 3D visuals.

Thus not only can the player make use of brutal fouls that weaken the opponents, but also take advantage of many different spells and absurd gadgets, such as a portable hole that reckless opponents can fall into. On top of that, the player is capable of corrupting the judge, which is useful especially when one has no more than several minutes left to gain the upper hand on the opposing team. Thus, the gameplay consists of solving subsequent puzzles by manipulating the environment - the player can turn it aside for example. The protagonist can jump from one end of the map to the other, which allows him to travel upwards, downwards, leftwards, and rightwards, discovering previously unknown passages. A mobile puzzle game by Polish studio LabLike. Magic Flute by Mozart has been inspired by a Tokyo staging of the titular opera, directed by Amon Miyamoto and with music by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart. Gameplay gives us many puzzle challenges, which will help the main hero of the opera in leaving the stage. To achieve this, special paths have to be created from movable tiles. More often than not requiring serious intellectual investment to create a correct path while avoiding obstacles, like flying snakes or patrolling guards. It is noteworthy that levels have been designed to have more than one solution, meaning that it might be a good idea to replay finished levels and try out a different approach. Magic Flute by Mozart presents us with charming, three-dimensional and isometric visuals, as well as with high-quality cutscenes with professional British actors voicing characters.

A free-to-play first person-shooter created specifically for mobile devices; the game uses microtransactions. Unkilled was developed by Madfinger - the creators of the very popular Dead Trigger 2. The player takes on the role of a mercenary, whose task is to contain a zombie epidemic in New York, before it turns into a global apocalypse. The game is a typical representative of the FPS genre - the player is required to eliminate regular zombies, as well as some more powerful bosses, using a wide set of available weapons. The protagonist can also make use of various special abilities, such as bullet-time or rapid fire in a 360 degree radius. Battles take place in various urban locations and after each operation, the player returns to the base where it is possible to upgrade the weaponry. Although Unkilled offers a single-player experience exclusively, it makes up for it with the available multiplicity of short story-based missions. The game uses the touch-based controls taken from Dead Trigger 2. The visuals are advanced, for the creators implemented soft shadows, lighting reflections, as well as complex particle effects.
