Tomb Raider III: The Lost Artifact

A continuation of Lara Croft’s adventure started in Tomb Raider III. In contrast to the expansions to the two previous installments of the popular series, Tomb Raider III: The Lost Artifact was sold separately and I was not free for owners of the base game. This time the archaeologist starts her adventure in the British Isles – first she visits Scotland, then Channel Tunnel, and finally she goes to Paris. The mini campaign in The Lost Artifact is composed of several levels and its plot revolves around the search for a mysterious treasure hidden in the catacombs under Willard castle in Scottish Loch Ness. Lara Croft believes that this is the legendary Hand of Rathmore, the fifth artifact necessary for the release of enigmatic powers laying dormant in an ancient meteorite. On her way, Lara meets e.g. prehistoric and dangerous monsters which she fights with her iconic pistols. Traditionally, the game centers around traveling through 3D levels, solving environmental puzzles, and looking for valuable items.

A continuation of the best-selling first-person stealth game created by Looking Glass Technologies studio in 1998. Once again, we play the part of a thief, Garrett, who is willing to undertake virtually any, daring or not, theft, just to make more money. Thanks to his activities, the protagonist has managed to amass not only sizable assets, but also many bitter enemies, representing three factions governing the city. Thus, in Thief 2: The Metal Age our main task will be to keep Garrett alive and explain the reasons for everyone's sudden increase in interest in his person. Concerning gameplay, the game basically does not differ from the first installment, although player gets a few new useful gadgets at his disposal, such as new types of arrows or an invisibility potion. Artificial intelligence algorithms and the range of potential reactions and behaviors of our opponents were significantly improved.
