Hatsune Miku: Project DIVA X is the first title in the series featuring a story campaign, in which you help Miku and other characters discover the digital idol world. As the game progresses, you unlock new cutscenes and events, similar to the previous installments. The production features several hundreds of outfits and accessories for the characters, and completing an outfit matching a song gets you a bonus. An action-puzzle game inspired by the annual “Earth Hour” event organized by WWF foundation. The game was developed by the Russian studio Brainy. It shows how much the modern world depends on electricity. When an accident in the power plant causes the whole city to run out of electricity, the player assumes the role of the last “living” spark and is tasked with restoring the power and allowing the inhabitants of the city to function normally. The gameplay mechanics in TurnOn are similar as in typical platformer games. The difference lies in the fact that instead between the platforms, the player must jump between electric wires. By jumping from one wire to another, the player tries to restore the power to houses, shops, and various electric devices. The devices are connected to each other with a tightly tangled network of connections. Because of that, in addition to having high agility, the game also forces the player to think. The game contains bonus levels as well. During them the player must move through the electric wires according to the tune of the background music.

Similarly to the previous installments of the series, the gameplay is focused around an uncomplicated premise – we have to beat out a rhythm on taiko drums, using a few buttons that correspond with the symbols appearing on the screen. The difficulty level, chosen before starting the game, determines the frequency of their appearance and the type of additional challenges. In relation to the previous installments, Taiko no Tatsujin: V Version has a story campaign in which the player, assuming the role of Don-san, has to defeat Revolution, the ancient dragon. The story is told in the form of cut-scenes, during which the main hero and his companion – Maple – acquire new equipment and useful items. The game is characteristic for its ample library of over 80 licensed Japanese songs and music tracks.
