A board game taking place in Japan during the feudal period and the debut production of Russian developer Red Unit Studios. Warbands: Bushido is a board game enabling us to assume the role of one of the daimyo ruling provinces of Japan during the Sengoku Period. The quest to gain power and influence will involve battles of large military forces, as well as espionage and convert assassinations. Aside from the major players, the land is roamed by numerous smaller parties such as samurai, ronin, ninja clans, pirates, or mercenaries. The action is seen from an isometric perspective, while the map is divided into hexagonal fields. The combat is turn-based – each side throws dice to deal damage and perform special actions. Moreover, we can utilize action cards, offering bonuses such as additional critical chance or more action points. Morale is also an important factor, increasing the effectiveness of our units.

A mobile logic game which combines the traits of many genres: roguelike, RPG, board and card game. The game takes place on a two-dimensional board which can be described as a constantly changing labyrinth. The gameplay in Imbroglio starts with the selection of a protagonist from the eight available characters. The player will lead the selected character to combat during which he will use various weapons, special abilities and runes used for upgrading weapons. The battles, which are the major part of the game, are turn based. One of four opponents can stand in player’s way – they differ not only in appearance, but also in the number of health points, damage and special abilities as well. Imbroglio also has the traits of a card game, but the player cannot build his own, universal collection – the card is selected automatically based on the position in the tactical grid where the protagonist is currently located. The key to success lies in developing good tactics and taking advantage of occasions that depend on the momentary layout of the labyrinth.

An original turn-based strategy created by Auroch Digital. Blood Red States is an adaptation of a board game known as Dark Future and released in 1988 by Games Workshop. The players are taken to a post-apocalyptic world destroyed as a result of a global cataclysm. Well-armed squads known as Sanctioned Ops serve the role of law enforcement now, patrolling the ruined roads and highways. Assuming the roles of the squads' leaders, the players take part in spectacular chases, going after various mobsters and gang members. The experience was based on an unusual pattern, as the gameplay is turn-based and the sides give orders to their units at the same time; afterwards, they observe several seconds of real-time action, when their orders are being executed. The key to success here is not only to react to the opponent's actions, but also to predict their moves and initiate risky maneuvers that can tip the balance in favor of the player's victory.

In Talisman: The Horus Heresy, the players assume the role of one of 8 playable characters divided into two groups: the loyalists or the traitors and take command of one division of Space Marines. The gameplay mechanics employ the solutions of the Talisman series, although the scale is incomparably bigger because the board spans across the entire galaxy.

A mix of puzzle, action and board game genres from Bird Studio. The title is based on a classic anime, based on the manga created by Akira Toriyama. Players must create an undefeated team of heroes that will win against all adversaries. Gameplay is based on two pillars, the first being unique battles that focus on combining groups of colorful Ki balls. This results in a certain amount of damage being dealt to the opponent, depending on type of combination, and effects can take the form of eye-catching animations, resembling the animated series. We can also charge powerful, game-changing special attacks. The second part of the game takes place on a two-dimensional board – we move our character to collect useful items and money. Additionally, there is a simple system of character development. Dragon Ball Z: Dokkan Battle lets us play solo or with friends. The title is distributed in free-to-play model with micropayments – real money can be used to buy new character cards to our collection.

It focuses on tactical land and naval battles with the use of actual units and their most famous commanders. The result of each battle is dependent not only on the parameters of the participating units but also on random factors. The special event cards, which are drawn before we start playing and then at every subsequent turn, are an important modifier. Wartile is an RTS with elements of card and board games. The game takes place in a dark fantasy world inspired by the Norse mythology. We control a party of vikings on a raid. Gameplay focuses on real-time battles between groups of warriors. Each of them has their own strengths and weaknesses, and the key to victory lies in taking advantage of them. Another important gameplay element is the deck of cards built by the players. Those cards will not only power up our warriors, but also activate both offensive and defensive actions. Cards also play an important role in exploration. Battles take place on three-dimensional maps that are divided into hexagonal tiles, and lay of the land, which is an important tactical element that should be taken under consideration when we are preparing our strategy. As a result, Wartile brings to mind a turn-based strategy that somehow takes place in real-time. Along with the story driven campaign Wartile offers a multiplayer mode. The game uses Unreal Engine 4.

A tactical strategy game focusing on turn-based encounters between groups of characters with incredible abilities. In order to play the game, one needs to be in possession of a special board, as well as plastic character figurines and ability cards to place on it. Prodigy was created by a studio founded by Jean Bey - a French gamemaker who specializes in traditional board games (for instance, he created Confrontation). In this fantasy world, two main factions represented by different characters are fighting each other. The player builds up their team through buying new character figurines. Characters are moved by moving the figurines, and the player takes various actions using a deck of special cards. Each character has their individual abilities - the player combines different cards together in order to activate them. Between the encounters, the player explores the world map, engages in complex conversations with NPCs, and takes quests from them. All the teams and characters have their own storylines and the players' decisions affect further developments in the story.
