Cosmoteer Guide

In this Cosmoteer guide we present a lot of useful information on various topics. You will learn how to get new ship, how to use Railgun or Ion Beam and how to build your own ship (and more).

Cosmoteer is a game about building your own spaceship and having adventures. This title offers players a lot of freedom when it comes to creating their own ships, which is why many gamers have taken an interest in it. In this guide, we present information related to various important aspects of the game. We talk about how to build ships, how to use the Railgun or the Ion Beam, and much more.

Remember that Cosmoteer is in early access. The articles presented below may therefore become outdated as further updates are made.

Cosmoteer Guide - Ships

  1. Crew transfer and management – One of your most important resources is your crew. Crew members are the ones who get all the goods to where they need to be. They are also the ones who make sure your systems run smoothly. This aspect of gameplay is discussed in this article: Cosmoteer - crew management and transfer.
  2. New Ship – sooner or later you will want to build another ship. This has many advantages. Several vessels mean more firepower and you always have a spare in case you lose one. You may also simply want to test new design solutions. In this article, we will tell you how to build a second ship: Cosmoteer - multiple ships; how to build a second ship?
  3. Ship Design – one of the main aspects of the game is creation of your own ships. The production allows you to design your own blueprints quite freely. You can then save them, share them and even download the ships of others from the internet. In this article, we tell you all about it: Cosmoteer - ship design guide. Build a new ship.

Cosmoteer Guide – Weapons and combat

  1. Ion Beam – is an interesting form of weapon that requires Ion Prism and a good knowledge of how it works in order to function properly. It is very easy to spend a lot of resources and money on an Ion Beam that will not give you the proper effects. It is a gun that very much reflects the principle - more is not always better. You can read about it here: Cosmoteer - Ion Beam Ship Explained.
  2. Capturing enemy ships – if you want to acquire new ships, you don't always have to build them yourself. You can also capture them from defeated enemies. However, this is not so easy. In order to obtain an enemy ship, certain conditions must first be met. We have discussed this here: Cosmoteer - How to Capture and Attack Neutral Ships.
  3. Weapons – In Cosmoteer you can install a fairly wide range of different weapons on your ships. The more interesting of these are the Ion Beam and the Railgun. In both cases you need to build them skilfully, otherwise they are useless. We write about the various weapons, and the Railgun in particular, here: Cosmoteer - railgun and other weapons.

Cosmoteer Guide – Other

  1. Save File and Ships Location - some players have trouble finding the folder with their saved games and ship blueprints. This can be useful if only for modding. How to find this location is discussed here: Cosmoteer - Save File Location; Find Your Saved Games Easily.
  2. Tips and Tricks – the first encounter with Cosmoteer can be a bit overwhelming. If you want to read some useful tips for getting started, take a look here: Cosmoteer: Tips and Tricks for Beginners.
  3. Cheats and mods – if you want to make the game a little easier for yourself or you are interested in mods, this site is worth a look: Cosmoteer Cheats and Mods.
  4. Steam Deck – is a very useful device, especially for people who have a large Steam account and want to play their favourite games more mobile. However, not all titles run smoothly on this console. We talk about how Cosmoteer works on Steam Deck here: Cosmoteer - Steam Deck Support and Crash Fix.
