Total War: Warhammer 3 Officially Announced

We received an official announcement of Total War: Warhammer 3. The final installment of this sub-cycle of the popular strategy game series from Creative Assembly will launch exclusively on PC, this year.

IN A NUTSHELL:
  1. Total War: Warhammer 3 was officially announced;
  2. The title will feature the Kislev and Cathay factions, among others;
  3. The game will be released exclusively on PC (Steam and Epic Games Store), this year.

In recent days, the British studio Creative Assembly provided us with a series of interesting teasers. According to fan speculation, they were supposed to prepare the ground for the official announcement of the next installment of the Total War: Warhammer sub-cycle. And the community was not wrong. Today we received the first presentation of Total War: Warhammer III. The full trailer is available below.

According to previous leaks, Total War: Warhammer III will feature new factions from Warhammer Fantasy Battles, including the so far undepicted in the world of video games factions of Kislev and Cathay (both will be available at launch). The former was designed as a kind of combination of Polish and Russian climates (for example, one of its units is a winged hussar). The second one is inspired by the Far East, especially China. Interestingly, Cathay has never been present in tabletop Warhammer, so in his case Creative Assembly team had to work a bit in cooperation with brand's caretakers at Games Workshop.

Also, as the teasers have already suggested, Total War: Warhammer III will feature four Chaos factions, associated with four gods - Khorne, Tzeentch, Slaanesh and Nurgle. They are the ones who will try to stop the other factions, as long as they don't knock each other out first. Players will face a total war, during which there will be no shortage of difficult choices, exciting battles with the participation of legendary heroes, huge monsters, flying beasts and magical powers, or surprising events. The whole thing will feacture scope never seen before in the series and will be a truly epic culmination of the Total War: Warhammer trilogy .

Here's what Ian Roxburgh, one of the producers at Creative Assembly, had tosay about the upcoming title:

“Our vision, from the start, was to create a series that felt like an incredible journey through this world we all loved,” Roxburgh said. “The enormous support of our players in ensuring the success of the first two installments has pushed our ambition to new heights, and we can’t wait for everyone to experience it.”

On the occasion of the official announcement, Jon Gillard, chief licensing manager at Games Workshop, shared his perspective on Total War: Warhammer III and the collaboration with Creative Assembly in general . To quote his words:

“The craft, dedication and authenticity to the Warhammer world that Creative Assembly has poured into the celebrated Total War Warhammer franchise over the years has been a delight to us at Games Workshop and fans worldwide. Creating and developing the armies of Cathay and Kislev for this project has been a lot of fun for our designers and we’re looking forward to seeing them take to the field in this huge third game in the series.”

Total War: Warhammer III is coming exclusively to PC. The title will debut this year, although the exact release date is not known as yet. However, we can already place pre-orders for it on Steam and Epic Games Store. If we decide to pre-order, we can expect bonuses, which will be presented in more detail in the future.

In addition, Creative Assembly stressed that it does not intend to release any exclusive content neither on Steam nor on Epic Games Store. All expansions will appear simultaneously on both platforms.

It's also worth noting that, as previously announced, owners of all three installments of Total War: Warhammer will get a chance to play the megacampaign on a huge map from the entire trilogy. This option will be unlocked with a free DLC. However, this will only work if we have each part of the sub-cycle on one digital distribution platform (the first and second Total War: Warhammer are scheduled to appear on Epic Games Store before the release of the third game).

So how will your adventure with Total War: Warhammer end ? Will you decide to save a dying god or use his power to the last drop? Will the world be ruled by Chaos or will all demons be repulsed? All of this will depend only on you.
