Xbox Game Pass Will Lose 8 Games in April; Here's What It Gets in Return [Update]

Game Pass in April will provide ambivalent feelings - the offer will lose 8 older games, including one surprise, but in return the service will receive 7 hot titles.

Microsoft confirmed that Quantum Break will be removed from Game Pass on April 15 this year due to "ongoing licensing issues." The developers of the game, Remedy Entertainment, have not yet reached an agreement with Microsoft - the latter is trying to prevent the loss of the game's license and promises to solve the problem as soon as possible.

Like every month, Xbox and PC Game Pass offer will undergo a little rotation. In April, the subscription will gain and lose some valuable games.

Game Pass will lose some important games. Quantum Break is a well-regarded Microsoft exclusive (published by the company), so removing it from the subscription may seem like a strange move - at the moment, it's hard to say whether it's a matter of expiration of the publishing agreement or temporary exclusivity, and whether it may herald the arrival of Remedy Entertainment (makers of Alan Wake i Control)'s game on Sony consoles, for example.

The removal of Life is Strange: True Colors and The Long Dark is also a painful blow - the first for adventure game lovers, and the second for fans of survival games. It is also worth mentioning at this point Rainbow Six: Extraction, which is a co-op shooter with survival horror elements.

Xbox Game Pass - April 2023 additions

Microsoft will try to make up with a number of April gamepass launches. Subscribers will get access to the following games:

April promises to be extremely interesting, and the many launches available from the first day on the service will certainly be a good compensation for the lost games. We should receive confirmation of the list of games from Microsoft tomorrow, which is April 4. The updated list of games available on the service, meanwhile, can be found here.
