Risen 2 Dark Waters: Pete's Treasure

This quest is part of: Become a Pirate

The quest is triggered automatically after finding Pete's [#1] treasure map (see: Pete's Treasure Map). The goal is to uncover a chest with valuables the pirate managed to bury before his death.

The chest containing valuable items is located several hundred meters north from where you found Pete's body, just in front of the entrance to the ancient tomb. The precise location is marked by a large red cross drawn on the ground [#2], so you shouldn't have any problems finding it.

Dig here. If you don't know how, borrow Pete's shovel. He won't be needing it anymore.

In order to dig the treasure out, you will need a Shovel - if you haven't bought it from Flannigan [#3] before, you can always use the one lying right next to you. When you're ready, approach the cross and use the left mouse button. Wait until the chest is uncovered, and check what's inside. At this moment, the quest is completed.

Finding Pete's treasure brings you closer to becoming a pirate, so don't forget to tell Captain Steelbeard [#4] all about it. You can find more information on this subject in the Become a Pirate quest description.
