Risen 2 Dark Waters: Water Barrels

Quest giver: Butch [#1]

When you arrive at the workers' camp, you'll meet a very nasty man - Butch. You'll need his help in supplying Captain Slayne's ship, so unfortunately you can't ignore him, the boor that he is. Threatening him won't do you any good since it won't open any additional dialogue options (and it still requires Intimidate at 90!). There's no way to convince him to help you out, therefore you have to get rid of him.

The problem can be solved only with magic...

If on the Sword Coast you have sided with the Natives, approach the drunken water carrier, Miles [#2], and ask for his suggestions. Though he himself won't tell you anything useful, during the conversation you'll have an epiphany. Possess Butch with a voodoo doll, and the problem will be solved! You now have only to carry that plan out (see: Butch Has Got to Go). Cut a lock of his hair and use the voodoo altar in Emma's house [#3] to create the doll (if you don't have the necessary ingredients, buy them from the witch). Go back to the workers and bewitch the supervisor. In his body, order Miles to load water on the ship. That's all.

...or subterfuge.

If on the Sword Coast you have sided with the Inquisition, talk to Miles [#3] as well, and he'll hint that outsmarting Butch isn't anything particularly difficult. Go back to the supervisor and tell him that there is a treasure hidden in a nearby cave [#4]. He will go there at once, but not alone - he'll force you to go with him (see: Down into the Cave). When you get there, your lie will come to light and you'll have no other choice than to beat him up (see: Give Butch a Thrashing). Afterwards, return to Miles and ask him to resume the deliveries.
