The Last Guardian: Help Trico during the fight and save him from dying

Pull the lever to throw the monster to the bridge below.

You need to help Trico fight off the hostile beast, as the enemy is much more powerful, and our companion cannot chase it away on his own. Once the fight begins, approach the lever located on a small side balcony. Pulling it will deprive the beast of a stable ground underneath. Sadly, the monster will manage to catch Trico, and both creatures will land on the lower level of the tower.

Approach the ledge. Make sure that you are directly above Trico, and climb down to land on his back. Ignore the warning about a suit of armor on one of the neighboring balconies, and move closer to the enemy monster's tail. Get a hold of it, and carry it to the raised gate nearby (screenshot 1). Now use the lever to lower the gate and impale the beast's tail (screenshot 2).

Climb the chain

This action is also not enough. Once again, stand directly above Trico to land on him. Don't climb down from your companion, but get a hold of a suspended chain above the fighting monsters. Start climbing it.

Push the wagon on the enemy monster

The chain will allow you to reach a location with a wagon standing on the tracks. Enter a small tunnel, turn around and start pushing the wagon until it falls down on the monster. You've finally managed to scare off the beast.

Use two ladders to get down to wounded Trico

Search for a ladder nearby, and use it to get down to the lower floor. Do the same with the next ladder. Approach Trico, who is heavily wounded. An attempt to interact will make him fall to the bottom floor.

Take the mirror spewed out by Trico

Climb on Trico. Pull out the spears from his body and try to pat him, which should make him spew out a mirror (the same one which you had used at the beginning of the game) Pick it up, as you will need it in just a while. To save Trico from dying you need to bring four barrels to him to help him regenerate.

Use the mirror to aim at the wagons shown on the screenshot and make them move once they are hit by a lightning. You'll reveal first two barrels. Once you've brought them back to your companion, bring each one to Trico's mouth. Don't put it down; wait until the weakened companion takes them directly from your hands.

To reach the last two barrels, you need to make a small climb through the neighboring rock ledges. Once you've reached the last ledge, jump to the chain and use it to reach another ledge. Aim the mirror at the stone blocks shown on the screenshot to unlock the access to the barrels. Pick up each one and throw them below.

Once you deliver all three barrels, you'll see a new cutscene. The companion has returned to full health and you'll be able to continue on your journey.
