The Last Guardian: Solve the vat of blue liquid puzzle

Jump up to reach the chain and use it to reach the upper part of the chamber

Squeeze between bars of the grate to enter a new big chamber, where you will surely note the hanging chain with a handle at the bottom of it (if you leave Trico to himself, he will start playing with the chain). Climb onto Trico's back, jump up to reach the chain and climb up to get to the stairs that you can jump onto. Walk over the balconies to get to the lever that you have to pull on.

Using the lever lights up fire by one of the stone elements up above and Trico will react by leaping towards that spot. Return to the wooden stairs that you have jumped onto off the chain and jump over to the neighboring ledge shown in the above screenshot.

Grab onto Trico's tail

Walk up ahead a little, face Trico and jump towards his dangling tail. Climb up to get to his back. Jump over to the narrow side balcony (the one with lit torches) and walk over into the neighboring chamber.

You have to reach the spot shown in the above screenshot, i.e. get to the small wooden balcony near several objects hanging under the chamber's ceiling. Jump towards the orb and jump over onto the cage hanging next to it.

Climb down the chain with the vat attached to it

Jump off the cage towards the wall and grab onto a ledge. Drop down twice, here, and slide down the chain with the vat with blue liquid attached to it. After you get to the bottom level, find the lever and pull onto it.

Unhook the vat and take it with you

Using the lever will allow you to move the chain with the vat attached to it. Thanks to this, you will be able to take the vat with you. After you do that, find nearby stairs and climb up to higher levels of the chamber.

You now will have to gain access to the previous chamber, i.e. the one where Trico is staying right now. Put the vat away for a moment and approach any of the doors (one of them has been shown in the above screenshot). Interact with the door to remove the blockade and open it. After you do that, pick up the vat, throw it into the first chamber (don't worry, it won't break) and return there yourself.

Find the vat, pick it up and take it towards the chain where you have started your exploration of the first chamber. You have to hook the vat on the chain, which has been shown in the above screenshot.

Cross the gate quickly, after it has been opened for a moment

Use the command issuing mode to point Trico towards the vat. He should start jerking the chain again and thanks to this, the nearby gate will open for a moment. Wait for the gate to be opened and run into the next chamber.

In here, take interest in the weight shown in screenshot 1. You should shove it to the very top. After you do that, shove it to the side to make it drop to a lower level (as shown in screenshot 2).

Place the weight under the gate door, thanks to which the gate will (partially) remain open

The weight should drop to the lower level in the vertical position. Again, shove the weight towards the gate. You have to wait here for Trico to lift the gate door again, which should be enough for you to shove the weight under the door - this has been shown in the above screenshot. If necessary, have Trico play with the chain again, but this should not be necessary.

Smash both of the stained glass panes by throwing the item at them

Call on Trico. Start by exploring the area behind the grate at the ground level, thanks to which you will find a barrel. Toss it to Trico and climb onto his back. Then, have him fly to the big ledge up above.

Trico will refuse to go any further, because you have ran up into two big stained glass panes. Unmount the beast, find a helmet lying on the ground and approach any of the panes. Throw the helmet at the pane to smash it. Do the same with the other one. After you are free to proceed, go ahead. You will reach a new area within the ruins, where there is a large scaffolding.
