Meet the tournament organizer

Count Monnier organizes the tournament. You will find him in the city

You can unlock this quest by checking one of the notice boards in Toussaint. You will learn from it about the plans to organize a new gwent tournament. Go to Beauclair and meet with Count Monnier (M4,4). The man will tell you about a Skellige deck prepared by him. He will give you the basic Skellige card deck.

Find other Gwent players

You can find new cards for the deck during the Gwent: Never Fear, Skellige's Here side quest. The strength of Geralt's Skellige card deck must be at least equal to 24.

Enter the tournament

Talk to the count to start the tournament

As soon as you gather enough Skellige cards, return to count Monnier and enter the tournament. You have to wait for two full days before it starts, but you can also use meditation instead of waiting. Your first opponent is Hamal ogn Dangbal, who plays a deck of monsters. Before you start the game, you can bet the silver sword that you are using right now against Hamal's sword. It is a good idea to take the risk, because you actually have nothing to lose. As Hamal will be playing a monster deck, remove decoys from yours and replace them with a frost weather card. Also, it is a good idea to add conflagration cards to your deck, thanks to which you will quickly defeat the enemy units. King Bran will be a perfect choice in this battle.

Note! Do not worry if you lose your sword. After the tournament, Count Monnier will offer Hamal an exchange, allowing you get it back. If, on the other hand, you win, you will receive from Hamal a rare steel sword - Bluff.

Cerys provides the best results if played towards the end of the round. - Gwent: To Everything - Turn, Turn, Tournament! - Side quests - The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Game Guide
Cerys provides the best results if played towards the end of the round.

Your second opponent plays the Nilfgaard deck. The best thing to do here is reinforce your ranks with decoys and pick Crach as the leader. Try to win the first round and do not use spies the your opponent has played. In the second round, use the spies that you have collected in the first round and play only two (strongest) cards (meaning regular cards, not the heroes). Then, give up the round. By giving the second round to the opponent you win an advantage in the third one, because the two cards on the table will make it over to the next round (as long as they are not hero cards). The opponent will have no choice but to win the second round to remain in the game. This is why he will waste his strongest cards to do this. After the third round starts, use your commander ability to shuffle the cards that were discarded earlier. This will render the opponent's medics useless.

Defeat the dwarves. - Gwent: To Everything - Turn, Turn, Tournament! - Side quests - The Witcher 3: Blood and Wine Game Guide
Defeat the dwarves.

After the game, you will have to fight off a dwarf attack. Keep in mind that you cannot use any weapons here. Fortunately, you do not have to win this fight, because either way, the course of action remains the same. If you want to win, though, try to land swift blows and skip back right afterwards. You will be able to regenerate your health, during the fight, which will help you survive if you take severe damage.

After this little brawl, the tournament will continue. If you have not lost any of the games yet, your next opponent will be Count Monnier, who plays the Skellige deck. Prepare for it by removing all of the decoys from your deck and replace them with special cards - conflagration. Inarguably, this is the easiest fight yet because the opponent's deck is not as versatile as yours. Try to use the strategy that you have been using against Hamal.

The last player uses the Scoia'tael deck. The important thing here is to pick Crach as the commander. This way, you will be able to shuffle the rejected cards and make the opponent's medics useless. Do not take any decoys with you and try to deal with the enemy units using conflagration as soon as cards with the strength of 6 or 10 land on the table.

For winning the tournament, you will receive 1000 Novigrad crowns and Victor's Cup that you can display in your house in Corvo Bianco. If you lose the tournament, you only receive a consolation prize of 100 crowns. In both cases, you will have completed this quest.
