Grapple tool is one of the more useful gadgets in Far Cry 5. Its main application is for reaching seemingly inaccessible places. You can't use this item from the beginning of the campaign in Far Cry 5. Here you will find information how to unlock the grapple tool and when to use it.

Unlocking the grapple tool in Far Cry 5

It is very simple to gain access to the grapple tool. In order to get it, you must buy a perk called Grapple. This perk is presented on the above picture. It costs 1 perk point.

Application of the grapple tool

Once you unlock the grapple tool, the game will automatically prepare it whenever you're in a place that enables you to use the item. Look for interactive hooks like the one in the above picture. They enable you to:

1. Climb up the rope - use this when you want to reach higher ledges.
2. Ride down the rope - use this if you want to reach lower ledges in a safe way.
3. Swing on the rope - use this when you want to reach further away ledges.

In some cases you can also switch between neighboring handles. An example place like that is shown in the above picture. During such missions don't let go the rope. Instead, aim the camera at the new handle and press the button responsible for catching it.
