A 2D fighting game developed by the Taiwanese FK Digital, offering 16 different fighters. The player takes on the role of one of them in order to fight in one of the seven available game modes. Above all, the player will find the Arcade Mode (follows the story of the selected character), a score-attack mode, and a multiplayer mode that allows the player to fight against other players from all over the world (online). Furthermore, the game gives us an opportunity to personalize the character. One can both change the appearances of the characters, and select the most appropriate special abilities for them, which can be activated in combat. The Chaos meter serves a significant role in the gameplay formula, as it gets refilled when the player lands a hit and allows them to execute the character's deadly abilities that brighten the screen with plenty of colors and deal lots of damage to the enemies. The game offers pleasant, colorful graphics, resembling Japanese animation.

An old school mix of platformer and metroidvania elements, created by independent studio of Long Hat House. Dandara takes us on adventure in a fantasy world where basic laws of physics, such as gravity don’t apply. The titular heroine is awoken to restore the order of old. We observe the world from side view, and the gameplay is similar to other titles from the genre, focusing on exploration, avoiding countless traps and threats, and gathering equipment and special powers that give us access to new locations. Traveling is made more appealing thanks to the unusual movement system; our heroine can launch herself forward on short distances, stick to all surfaces and move in any direction. The mechanics find use in combat as well, as we attack enemies by shooting various projectiles at them.

She Remembered Caterpillars is a isometric 2D puzzle game developed by Ysbryd Games. She Remembered Caterpillars takes us to a weird world where we have to find our missing father. A bigger emphasis, however, is put on the gameplay mechanics (manipulating the colors), not the plot. During the game we will control colorful creatures that move around small maps and can only cross bridges that are of the same color as them. The fact that our colorful monsters can fuse themselves and create a monster in another color, like purple, will make achieving victory much simpler. With that fusion, the created monster can cross bridges of both colors that created him. On every level from the forty available, we have to make sure all of our creatures crossed the bridges and end up on special white tiles.

An original game that can be treated as a hacking simulator created by a Canadian studio called Alice & Smith. We play as a recruit of Network Intelligence & Technical Evaluation company's (the titular NITE) secret branch that is engaged in a cyber war and supports military units. Our task is to operate STINGER system that allows us to hack into opponent's network, coordinate attacks etc. We can do this by selecting various modules and typing special commands. The gameplay in NITE Team 4 is divided into three phases: the first one is a recon, during which we gather useful information; the second is based on exploration and allows us to get passwords to e-mail accounts or, for example, systems that check fingerprints; in the third phase we coordinate land units and provide them with necessary equipment that they can use during fights and infiltration of enemy bases. A characteristic feature of this game is the use of terminology that comes from the revealed NSA documents and the fact that STINGER system was based on real Kali Linux / Metasploit software.

An expanded version of the Kirby 3D Rumble minigame from Kirby: Planet Robobot. The gameplay is focused on traveling through 3D levels in which we must eliminate many enemies and collect coins in the shortest possible amount of time. Kirby's Blowout Blast is based on the same rules, but the levels are now more complex with additional enemies and bosses. The main character, a pink creature called Kirby, can swallow enemies and then spit them out at other enemies. Time is important in Kirby's Blowout Blast, which means that the players need to have good reflexes during fights. We can get additional points by hitting several enemies with one shot or eliminate them one by one without missing. We can be rewarded with one of three ranks, bronze, silver and gold, on more than 25 levels. Kirby's Blowout Blast encourages the players to replay the levels and to top their previous scores.

A game which gives us an opportunity to ride ATVs while participating in insane racing events all over the globe. Developed by Nighthawk Interactive, ATV Renegades offers both competition for the best position on the finish line, and for the highest point score, rewarding the player for performing spectacular tricks. A classic career-like mode - the World Tour, constitutes the core element of the experience, but the game also offers quick races in addition to the aforementioned freestyle contests. It is worth mentioning that the in-game vehicles differ in their statistics and performances; as for the rider, the player can customize their appearance to their liking. What is a big advantage of the game, ATV Renegades offers a local multiplayer opportunity to challenge a second player for a split-screen duel. Unfortunately however, the game's visuals are far from satisfactory and can be considered average-quality at best.

Unlike in other tower defense games, we do not build towers, but fight on our own. The game offers a wide array of weaponry for our hero, such as axes, bombs, bows, crossbows, or fancy and elaborate traps. Moving around the game locations happens in a way typical for virtual reality games - our hero teleports from one place on the map to another. The game's visuals are not that sophisticated, but the cartoonish style successfully masks that. Both character models and locations are simply said eye-pleasing.

A remake of Dear Esther, a popular narrative exploration game from 2012 that started a whole new genre – the so-called walking simulators. It was developed by the independent studio The Chinese Room. Contrary to the base version of the game that was powered by the Source engine and released only on personal computers, this edition is powered by the Unity technology. This enabled the developers to release their game on PlayStation 4 and Xbox One as well. The new version introduces completely new sounds, including the developers’ commentary that can be played during the game. In Dear Esther: Landmark Edition the player calmly travels through locations (the action is presented in a first-person perspective) and gradually discovers new pieces of the story. The plot is presented in the form of letters to the titular Esther, which are read by a mysterious male voice. Since the game lacks any interactions with the environment, it caused many discussions about whether it is still a video game or simply an interactive experience.

Each of them offers six missions. Battle of Tallarn also offers a tutorial for players not acquainted with the genre. Another entry in a fighting games series, very popular in Japan. The thing that distinguishes Fire Pro Wrestling World from other wrestling games are the game mechanics. Action is presented from an isometric point of view and almost every element of the gameplay can be adjusted to suit our preferences. This is mainly connected with the wrestlers – in the beginning we get 30 fighters, but we can also create our own wrestlers by choosing not only their appearance but also their preferred moves (we can choose from more than 2000 attacks) and even a script that is responsible for their behavior. Additionally, we can also customize the referee that oversees fights and arenas – we can, e.g. put an electric fence or a mine field between fighters and audience. Besides classic fights we can also participate in online matches that can be played by up to four players. Fire Pro Wrestling World features somewhat cartoonish 2D graphics.

An unusual hybrid of a shoot'em up and an action RPG. The players are taken to a planet which was torn into pieces as a result of a global cataclysm. Those who survived the catastrophe had to conform to the harsh rule of megacorporations. In opposition to those, smaller and larger tribes emerged, whose members earn their living as mercenaries and smugglers. The protagonist is a smuggler himself, who pilots a combat ship while taking part in air battles, fighting armies belonging to the corporations, and trying to make it out alive. The game is played from a side view, and the experience is based on dynamic action, as the player constantly moves to the right and eliminates everything that stands in their way. The game was divided into randomly generated missions and the player fights different enemies while completing them. Among the adversaries, heavy cruisers are the toughest, because they serve the role of bosses here. To achieve victory, one has to maneuver their ship (it represents one of three classes) effectively, juggle different weapons, attacks and special moves skillfully, as well as to make a good use of the seventy active and passive abilities. Drifting Lands has eye-pleasing visuals, as it offers a colorful, cartoonish graphic style.

A rare example of an MMORTS game set in a retro-futuristic universe. Developed by a French independent studio – Insane Unity – Win That War! combines the gameplay mechanics typical of real-time strategy games with online interactions. The game allows the players to choose a side in a war between three megacorporations, which fight against each other for control over newly discovered planets full of precious minerals. In the game, one assumes the role of a general of an army comprised of futuristic tanks and airplanes. Combat teams can be dispatched to different locations on the surface of a beleaguered planet, where one can either leave them on their own and allow the AI to lead the defense of a planetary sector, or lead the army in person to battle hostile players. Battles are typical for the RTS genre: a player has to acquire resources, build factories, recruit new units and dispatch them to fight the enemy. In return for victorious battles, players are rewarded with currency, which they can spend on drafting new armies and improving existing ones. The technology research trees allow the players to unlock new structures and combat vehicles. Apart from the main MMO mode, the game offers a chance to play non-committal multiplayer battles and skirmishes against the AI.

A survival sandbox game, in which the player assumes the role of an astronaut, who is trying to stay alive on a desolate planet. Developed by Craneballs, Planet Nomads offers the player with a procedurally-generated open world. One has to tend to his character’s basic needs - this means satisfying both hunger and thirst, as well as taking care of his general health condition. The main protagonist can fall ill, get a concussion, and break a limb, so one has to take notice of the threats posed by the environment, in the form of the planet’s fauna and flora. Additionally, one has to avoid poisonous gases, extreme temperatures, and radioactive radiation. In comparison to other games from the survival genre, Planet Nomads stands out in terms of its gameplay mechanics, allowing the players to erect structures using over a hundred different segments; this is also how one can create a vehicle to explore the planet more easily, and a spaceship to set off to a space voyage. All of this, however, requires resources - in order to find them, a player has to venture beyond the safe areas and scavenge the planet’s recesses that are much more dangerous. As the game progresses, one gains access to certain gear improvements - the multi-tool used for gathering resources, the protective space suit, and the jetpack. The game offers an additional treat in the form of the ability to destroy elements of the environment, composed of voxels. Planet Nomads offers support for mods.

A shoot em’up with real time strategy elements in which the player assumes control of a port side cannon of an AC-130 gunship with an objective to destroy hordes of zombies infesting the surface of the Earth. The game, developed by Flaregames, offers a number of scenarios that see us support land units, including an airfield which serves as a base of operations between missions. As the game progresses, we receive access to new weapons which can be mounted on our ship or equipped by the land forces that support us from the ground. Zombie Gunship Survival offers decent visuals – it should be mentioned that the gunship and its weaponry were faithfully recreated according to their real life counterparts.

A simple adventure game developed by Bandai Namco Entertainment for PlayStation VR. The title was at first developed as a technological demo. In Summer Lesson the player assumes the role of a teacher who provides summer Japanese lessons to an American exchange student. He meets with the girl on the porch of a traditional country house. The gameplay is very simple and player’s interactions with the virtual world are limited to performing a few gestures. From time to time the student will ask the player some questions to which the player can answer by moving his head. In some cases the player must choose one of a few available answers by looking at the icons flowing in the air.

A dynamic and demanding platform game in a retro setting. Developed by Gamera Interactive, Unit 4 focuses on the adventures of four alien special agents trying to save their star system from inevitable doom. An army of evil aliens has invaded the protagonists’ home planet and stolen a sacred artifact. Since similar robberies have occurred on other planets, the entire system is slowly falling into its demise, as it cannot function without the aforementioned artifacts. Traveling aboard their spaceship, the main protagonists visit numerous planets and fight the alien minions of evil in search for a way to defeat the enemy and retrieve the life-giving artifacts. To travel to a planet, one has to open the galactic map and freely control the spaceship represented on it. When on a planet’s surface, the main protagonists can move in two dimensions - jump on moving platforms, glide, hang from walls and ceilings, as well as fight the enemy forces. Each character features a unique skill set, such as Double Jump or Deadly Dash. Since the players can freely switch between controlled characters, one can quickly combine their special moves into stunning combos. Alternatively, one can join their friends in a local cooperative mode, and play Unit 4 together, with each character assigned to one player.

A spectacular FPS created exclusively for VR by Skydance Interactive. The story takes place at a relatively not distant time in the future on a world destroyed by natural disasters and ruled with an iron fist by megacorporations. During the game, the player assumes the role of a pilot of a six-story-tall war machine, who works for the United States Free Forces resistance. He is tasked with a mission to fight a privately owned conglomerate - HUMNX. Players get to observe the action from the first-person perspective, and the gameplay builds on battles with hordes of opponents that attack from every possible direction. On the battlefield, one can use the futuristic firearms their mech is equipped with, however, in desperate situations, one can also deal powerful blows with the mech’s gigantic fists. During the combat, the AI-controlled allies make for a helpful company. As the game’s story progresses, one acquires experience points, which allow the player to upgrade their machine and boost its military potential.

Developed by an indie developer David O’Reilly, Everything generates worlds, which you can watch from any perspective you like. Each universe can be observed in both micro and macro scale. You start playing in a particular place of a procedurally generated world, but the rest is completely up to you – you are free to take control of a single atom, animal, or object, and focus on its immediate whereabouts, or control an entire planet, star or even galaxy. The gameplay has no specific goal – what you do and why you do it is your choice. As you jump between different elements of the universe you create its encyclopedia – objects that you discover are catalogued, after which you can view them in a special menu. All that is complemented by decent graphics and atmospheric soundtrack as well as lectures of the philosopher Alan Watts. Interestingly, Everything is the first video game in history nominated for Oscar in the Best Animated Short Film thanks to its several-minute trailer – that film had also won jury’s award at Vienna Shorts Festival.
