Forged Battalion is an RTS game developed by Petroglyph - a studio that specializes in this particular genre. The game is set in the near future and the plot revolves around a war between a military organization in control of the world, and a resistance group. Forged Battalion uses a lot of concepts considered typical in the genre, but it also adds new mechanics that enrich the experience. The player constructs bases, develops technologies, produces machines and battles enemies. However, one has to design each unit on their own, through building it up from parts, just like using blocks. Thanks to this, the player can customize their army to match one's preferences or create something effective against a particular enemy; everything can be changed quickly if needed. Over time, the player gradually unlocks better components, which allows them to construct more powerful units. The game offers a story campaign, co-op missions, and a multiplayer component including several PvP modes - up to eight players can meet in a session in one of those modes.

The story of So Let Us Melt is presented in the form of several short chapters, in which the player observes the actions of Custodian 98 and his colleagues. Although the player cannot freely move through the environment – they can only look around – sometimes they can interact with the surroundings.

In general the gameplay focuses on fighting other players. The game supports local and online multiplayer for up to four players. They fight each other on a small arena by using powers of the titular Kirby. He can throw a lasso, control ice, use sword etc. The gameplay mechanics aren’t complicated, but winning requires training and learning advantages and weaknesses of the characters. The game is designed for multiplayer, but it can be also played in single player training mode.

Fortunately, the protagonist is not alone — she is accompanied by a friendly giant, who is helping her escape the enormous fortress by lifting and throwing heavy objects. Although A Rose in the Twilight focuses on exploration and jumping on platforms, another key element of the game are logic puzzles. While the game is very difficult, each death gives you tips to avoid the same dangers in the future. The visuals are unique, utilizing colors only sparsely.

The first large expansion for Hearts of Iron IV – the fourth installment of the popular grand strategy game series created by Paradox Interactive. The add-on, called Together for Victory, focuses on introducing new functions connected with British Commonwealth and the countries that were a part of it during World War II. This results in, among others, new national development trees for Australia, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, and India, complemented by historical figures and companies, while the whole add-on was designed to either replay the real course of war, or allow a completely abnormal, abstract scenario to play out. Thanks to a new autonomy system, the players can set various levels of dependency of subjected nations, and expand upon some of the national ideas, resulting in useful bonuses and technologies. The Commonwealth nations can share technologies, as well as ask their allies to lease them various equipment.

Specter of Torment is a free DLC for the fan-favorite platform game Shovel Knight, developed by Yacht Club Games. This time, we play as a new protagonist, the titular Specter. The expansion takes place before the events of the base game. In terms of gameplay, Specter of Torment is identical to the base game, combining the elements of a 2D platformer, an RPG, and an action-adventure game. Once again, we observe the game from a side perspective. We explore some new fantastic locations, solve simple environmental puzzles, and fight the enemies. However, Specter has a new move set and skill set at his disposal. Unlike his predecessor, he can climb walls and other environmental objects, which opens new tactical possibilities for the players. The iconic shovel was replaced with a characteristic scythe.

The gameplay focuses on leading the group of creatures and facing adversities, including enemies big and small. The uniqueness of the gameplay consists of the fact that you issue orders by pressing buttons to the rhythm of music to create a given sequence. Depending on what melody you play, you army can move forwards, assume a defensive stance, attack, or perform a efficiency-boosting combo. As the gameplay pace is quite fast and one false note can mean big trouble, to succeed in Patapon Remastered you need a good sense of rhythm and a quick decision-making skill.

The player assumes the role of Don Ramiro – one of the faithful knights in service of Alfonso VI, uniting to travel the lands of Tolomera and bring back peace and order. Mechanics of Cursed Castilla are inspired by classic 8-bit platformers, like Ghosts’n Goblins. Your objective comes down to exploring and fighting enemies (e.g. zombies), among them being 19 powerful bosses. During combat, Don Castillo makes use of various weapons acquired during gameplay, and a number of items – like magical boots – that make playing easier.

The new race is led by two legendary leaders: an immortal half-god Orion, and one of the eldest of the treefolk, Durthu. Aside from them, Realm of The Wood Elves is represented by Glade Lords and Ancient Treemen, as well as three types of heroes: Spellsingers, Branchwraiths, and Waystalkers. Additionally, a number of standard units were introduced, including eagle and stag riders. Wood Elves also have a unique technology and construction tree. Conquered areas can only support guard posts, while more advanced structures are built only in Athel Loren, their home forest. A new currency – Amber – had been introduced, necessary for recruiting elite units.

The game is presented in a side perspective, and is based on the exploration of different stages and elimination of hostile enemies.

A classic two-dimensional vertical shoot-em-all, taking place in a science-fiction universe. Xenogears was developed by an independent Finnish studio 10tons. The game takes us to 2032, where a conflict called the first galactic war forces humanity to defend its planet using an improvised fleet consisting of civilian space ships armed with various weaponry. As per the genre staples, the gameplay focuses around elimination of approaching hordes of enemies, interrupted from time to time with boss encounters that require more attention and a bit of tactical approach. Procedurally generated levels are definitely an interesting feature of the game – a level may play out different with every new playthrough, with the players unable to learn the enemies’ behavior by heart. Aside from that, the forces of humanity ale always represented by a wing – four fighters with different weaponry, with the player able to switch to a different unit depending on the type of enemy, or invite his friends to take over the remaining fighters in a local co-op mode.
