The 9th main entry in a classic jRPG series, originally released in 2000 on PlayStation console, and ported to PC ten year later. After a few games featuring slightly cyberpunkish settings, Final Fantasy IX returns to the roots of the series, where we are once again met by knights, princesses, and dragons. Players take the role of a young thief, who, together with a company of other heroes, faces the evil queen Brahna, who is responsible for the outbreak of a great war. However, as it turns out, the queen has been nothing more than a pawn in the hands of a much more dangerous enemy. In terms of game mechanics, the game is a combination of proven solutions with some limited innovations, such as a redesigned profession system or ATE mode (Active Time Event), which allows us to see what other team members are doing, give access to numerous side quests and a chance to collect various useful items.

The fifteenth installment in the Tales series, released for the 20th anniversary of the RPG franchise by Bandai Namco. The game is set in the land of Glenwood, and you, together with new heroes, including Sorey the future Shepherd (a mythical warrior), have to rid the land of a powerful plague, which makes mortals lose their faith in good. The gameplay in Tales of Zestiria consists mostly of exploration (for the first time in the series' history, the game features an open world), developing your party, completing quests, and combat. Tales of Zestiria features a new version of the series' distinct arcade-like combat system, and one of the biggest changes is that the battles take place on the maps you explore. The stylized 3D visuals are of high quality, especially the designs by the series' original creators: Mutsumi Inomata, Kosuke Fujishima, Daigo Okumura and Minoru Iwamoto.

The action of Space Engineers takes place in space, and the players assume the role of engineers whose task is to build bases, gather resources, and ensure the colony’s survival. The title was created based on the NASA forecasts concerning the conditions of space colonization in the coming years. There are two game modes to choose from: creative mode and survival mode. The players are given a lot of freedom of action in both cases, including the ability to construct their own spaceships and machines as well as to transform the environment. Space Engineers is powered by the in-house VRAGE 2.0 engine, featuring an advanced physics simulation module.

A sports manager game in which we lead a racing team and try to win a fictional version of Formula 1. The economic system is the basis of the game – if we want to achieve success we have to manage our budget well and maintain balance between income and expenses. During the game we can hire new drivers and technicians, research new technologies and upgrades for our race cars as well as find optimal settings for the cars and create schemes for pit-stops. During the races we can set a general tactic and make various decisions, e.g. changing tires during a heavy rain – on one hand our driver can lose precious seconds but on the other hand driving with the old tires can increases the danger of accident drastically. Realism (we don't get any bonuses or special abilities) and superb graphics work in favor of the game created by Playsport Games.

A post-apocalyptic survival strategy game with RPG elements, created by Polish developer Robot Gentleman Studios. You play as the head of a typical American family, who has to provide for his loved ones in the face of an incoming nuclear war. The game starts 60 seconds before the first explosion, giving you one minute to get to a shelter while grabbing the most essential provisions on the way. In the next phase you have to survive for as long as you can using only the resources you've managed to gather, which often force you to make very tough decisions. Sometimes, you have to decide whose daily rations should be reduced, sometimes how to deal with problems at hand, such as a cockroach infestation. Despite its seemingly grim theme, the game features a rather light-hearted atmosphere, evident e.g. in its comic-like graphics.

A stand-alone expansion pack for Sins of a Solar Empire - a project developed by Ironclad Games, combining elements of real-time strategy with 4X mechanics. The expansion continues the story of the great galactic conflict. A group of citizens starts the titular rebellion, having grown tired of the war. Three groups of rebels are established as each one secedes from the corresponding party involved in the conflict. As a result, three completely new factions were created, each having their own development trees and modified ships, including a new class, called titans, as well as new battleships and corvettes. Similar to the core game, the expansion focuses mainly on multiplayer gameplay, being deprived of any standard single-player campaign. At the same time, the gameplay has been diversified, for the player can now achieve victory by different means. The expansion utilizes an upgraded graphical engine and offers noticeable improvements in terms of visuals.

An MMORPG created by Trion Worlds studio. The players enter the world of Telara, which struggles to repel the invading forces of Regulos the Destructor. The defenders, however, are split into two warring factions: Guardians, and Defiants. RIFT lets us create a hero based on one of the four archetypes (warrior, primalist, rouge, and mage), and set out to complete various story and side quests, exploring the fantasy world and fighting encountered enemies. During the gameplay, we have to face not only AI-controlled monsters, but also, after joining one of the aforementioned factions, players belonging to the opposing organizations. One of the interesting mechanics in the game are the invasions – to stop the influx of beasts flowing into Telara through randomly located gates, the heroes have to form up groups to repel the attacks. During spectacular skirmishes, we use a wide array of combat abilities, which are unlocked in the course of the gameplay. The game is complemented by high-quality visuals, and offers a free-to-play model with optional paid subscription.

The action takes place mostly in London, where many authentic places and pieces of architecture can be found. The game offers numerous dynamic shootouts, featuring a wide array of fantastic weapons (including things like Arc Gun, Combo Gun, and Thermite Rifle). The Order: 1886 is distinctive for its high-quality visuals, generated by the Ready at Dawn Engine 4.0.

A very humorous strategy game with adventure game features. In Neighbours from Hell the player is tasked with making the life of his neighbors as miserable as possible. The player assumes the role of a participant of a reality show who is tasked with presenting the toxic relations between the inhabitants of a single block of flats to wider audience. The action is shown from the side perspective and the game consists of fourteen scenarios of different difficulties and types of tasks to complete. Not only must the player set various traps and pull sophisticated pranks on his neighbors (for example by breaking household items), but he must watch for dangers as well. Some flats are guarded by dogs that make completing the task harder. During the game the player is constantly forced to improvise and discover unknown properties of seemingly useless items. The humorous tone of the game is highlighted by nice, cartoonish graphics and a catchy soundtrack. The game uses a simple, intuitive interface.

The mechanics are similar to those from the Commandos series or the already mentioned Desperados: Wanted Dead or Alive, and during the 40 non-linear missions, linked with an interesting plot, you complete various tasks, from infiltration, through saving your companions, to classic attacks (such as e.g. capturing a caravan) and laying siege to a fortress.

The fourth installment in a best-selling series of strategy games initiated in 1995 by New World Computing. The game is set in Jadame - a fantasy world the players can associate with Might & Magic VIII. Six factions were included here and each of those has their own towns, different units and technologies. Each of them also has a dedicated school of magic and can hire characters belonging to one race only (Strongholds are the only exception). The mechanics went through many modifications and simplifications. The creators got rid of recruitment on a weekly basis, modified the combat system, and erased the necessity to have a character within an army - the characters were turned into units that participate directly in combat sequences. This however, brought many restrictions that made the experience both more difficult and entertaining. The game engine was significantly modified as well, which influenced the size of the maps and brought improvements to the visuals. For the first time in the series, the game is played from an isometric view.

The action of Quake takes place in an undefined future where government experiments with teleportation has made contact with inhabitants of other dimensions, bringing about an infestation of hellish beasts. During the gameplay, we assume the role of a nameless hero who, as humanity’s last hope, travels between the dimensions trying to deal with the danger. During the game, we explore various, climatic locations, wreaking havoc using eight weapons types. Our task is to gather the runes that unlock access to the last dimension, home to the final boss - Shub-Niggurath. One of the biggest highlights of the game is an expanded multiplayer mode offering the ability to play in several different modes, designed for up to 16 players.

A sequel to Soldiers: Heroes of World War II, a well-received real-time strategy game released in 2004. Faces of War was developed by Best Way, the creators of the game's predecessor, and the production doesn't differ much in terms of gameplay mechanics. Faces of War features campaigns (one for each country: US, United Kingdom, Soviet Union and Third Reich), each of them involving an array of varied tasks. You get a specific number of troops, which you can issue orders to. The new elements are the extra soldiers, weapons, and vehicles, as well as a more advanced AI — your soldiers do quite well on the battlefield, even when you're not directly controlling them. The visuals, interface, and sound have also been improved. Faces of War features a single player mode and a multiplayer mode for up to sixteen participants.
