Another incarnation of a minimalistic real-time strategy with RPG elements, developed by an independent studio called noio. Like in the original Kingdom for PC Windows and mobile devices, in Kingdom: Two Crowns, the player assumes the role of a king tasked with taking care of his loyal subjects and providing for them. Unlike the original release, in Kingdom: Two Crowns the player can enjoy both single player and cooperative game modes. During the game, one observes the action from the side perspective. Gameplay revolves around two main aspects – the first one being exploration (during which one can acquire gold they can give to the encountered settlers), while the second one focuses on expanding the settlement by erecting production buildings, creating tools for the settlers, and building diverse fortifications, which prove useful after dusk. During the night, one’s domain is attacked by vicious trolls and the player has to pay careful attention to their crown, because when it falls into enemy hands, the game is over. Luckily, the player can unlock numerous perks on their adventures to stand a better chance against the increasingly powerful foes. The game features simple, yet pleasing pixel-art visuals.

Rune: Ragnarok takes you to a fantasy realm based on the Nordic mythology. The game’s story starts seven years after the eponymous Ragnarok has begun. Despite the pervasive death and destruction, there is no end to the conflict. That’s why the remaining humans (including the protagonist) decide to take the initiative and slay all gods in order to put a stop to the apocalypse. While playing you explore a large open world, assault enemy settlements, sail the seas, complete missions, craft items, and develop your hero’s skills. The game’s heart is the expansive combat system, characterized by its focus on action and explicit brutality. An important role is also played by deities. The player can choose to worship one of them, which grants them access to a variety of special powers.

In terms of gameplay, the game is identical to its predecessor and offers quick action, with players madly dashing through randomly generated dungeons, fighting against monsters and collecting treasures. The main difference is that we no longer control one hero, instead playing as two of the four protagonists, so using both heroes’ skills properly is crucial.

When the so-called Campaigner attempts to use an army of modified dinosaurs to conquer the entire universe, the protagonist has to journey across 8 worlds, and find all fragments of an ancient weapon, which is the only chance of defeating the evil. Turok Remastered was designed by Night Dive Studios, who specialize in re-editions of classic games. In terms of game mechanics the title does not differ from the original 1993 game. All changes can be boiled down to increased screen resolution and adjustments necessary for the game to support wide-screen monitors.

To top it all, the game also features a Special Operations mode, in which the players have to stand their ground against numerous waves of enemies. Warface draws its inspirations from other games developed by Crytek – it is powered by the CryEngine 3 technology; the characters are extremely mobile and can quickly adapt. In comparison to similar games, Warface stands out in terms of visual quality.

A very well-made hack-and-slash game, created by a small studio Runic Games, whose members contributed to such productions as Hellgate London, Mythos or the Diablo franchise. The story begins in the eponymous village of Torchlight, under which large deposits of a magical ore called ember have been discovered. However, the sudden mining boom resulted in another discovery, this time of a great evil lurking underground. This is where the protagonist steps in. You choose from three character classes: Alchemist, Destroyer and Vanquisher. Every class has branched development options and a unique fighting style. The character is accompanied by an animal follower, which helps you with fighting and can carry your items. Like a proper RPG, Torchlight features dynamic real-time combat utilizing the isometric view. The defeated foes drop large quantities of money and useful items, which can be equipped by the protagonist. The visuals are similar to those of Diablo III, although they are slightly more “sugary.”

Before each level, the player gathers a team capable of completing the objective. Then, they begin to exterminate the enemies, and ending the level with a boss fight. The game offers an extensive combat system and the player makes use of various famous abilities of their chosen superheros. As the player progresses, they can upgrade the superheros' costumes in order for them to acquire different, useful combat abilities.

A new installment of the popular series from Pyro Studios, in which we take control of a unit of specially trained soldiers, sent to complete various tasks that help turn the tide of World War II. While developing Commandos: Strike Force, Pyro Studios decided to try a somewhat different approach, ending with a tactical action game seen from a first-person perspective instead of a classical tactical strategy game that the series has accustomed us to. This time, we assume control of a trio of characters, i.e. a green beret, a sniper, and a spy, with each of them having their own, distinctive set of abilities. The key to success is to observe your surroundings and a use each hero’s abilities in the right way. We are left with a number of varied tasks, taking place in Soviet Union, Norway, and France, and allowing the player a freedom of choosing a right approach to the task.

An independent expansion for Commandos: Behind Enemy Lines – a famous tactical real-time strategy developed by Spanish Pyro Studios. The described expansion offers eight complex and dangerous missions that are entrusted to a small group of commandos, made up from soldiers with different abilities. Our team receives completely new tasks, such as capturing enemy soldiers, destroying artillery emplacements, or sabotaging a prototype plane. Each hero has a set of useful abilities, with sniper fire or distracting enemies with cigarettes being only the tip of the iceberg. The unit receives some help from the locals: a woman from Dutch resistance, and a Yugoslavian major. Additionally, Commandos: Beyond the Call of Duty expands the core game with new buildings, vehicles, and weapons.
