The title features a shorter story set in an open world inspired by the films of Quentin Tarantino. The action takes place two years after the events of the original title, in a small town in Arizona. The protagonist finds out that he is inside the world of Night Springs, the TV series he once wrote scripts for. Trapped in a nightmare, Alan Wake has to face his dark alter ego – a serial killer known as Mr. Scratch. The mechanics follow in the original title’s footsteps and feature a characteristic combat system based on the use of a flashlight. The developers introduced a new, arcade game mode, Fight Till Dawn, in which you battle waves of opponents, and your score is displayed in a special online ranking.

The 9th main entry in a classic jRPG series, originally released in 2000 on PlayStation console, and ported to PC ten year later. After a few games featuring slightly cyberpunkish settings, Final Fantasy IX returns to the roots of the series, where we are once again met by knights, princesses, and dragons. Players take the role of a young thief, who, together with a company of other heroes, faces the evil queen Brahna, who is responsible for the outbreak of a great war. However, as it turns out, the queen has been nothing more than a pawn in the hands of a much more dangerous enemy. In terms of game mechanics, the game is a combination of proven solutions with some limited innovations, such as a redesigned profession system or ATE mode (Active Time Event), which allows us to see what other team members are doing, give access to numerous side quests and a chance to collect various useful items.

The fourth and final installment of the independent horror game series by Scott Cawthon. In Five Nights at Freddy’s 4, we have to face the murderous animatronic toys yet again. Compared to its predecessors, the title's gameplay formula has been changed. While plying, we do not assume the role of a security guard anymore, but a small child that has to survive the five eponymous nights in his own home which is overrun by bloodthirsty toys. We cannot track their movements by a monitoring system and have to check out each of the five available locations (two parts of a kid's bedroom, cabinet, and left and right hall) on our own. For the first time in history of the series, we can run, peek through the door, look into the cabinet, and turn around. Our only weapon is the flashlight that lets us scare the animatronics away.

Developers from Lionhead focused mostly on improving the graphics to fit modern HD standards and introducing many improvements of the gameplay mechanics. The player takes the role of a small boy who witnesses the death of his closest ones during a bandit raid on his family village. Adopted by a member of the legendary Hero Guild, he trains and becomes stronger in order to have his revenge on the bandits. During the game the protagonist changes from a small, helpless boy into a true hero. In addition to the main plot, the developers also created many side quests and various additional activities that are gradually unraveled as the player progress in the game. The protagonist can act in good or bad way and his actions will impact the attitude of non-playable characters towards him.

First huge add-on to the tactical strategy game, XCOM: Enemy Unknown, released in 2012. Created by the developer team at Firaxis Games, the expansion introduces many new features to basic game. One of the most important among them is a new resource – meld, a type of microscopic, robotic organisms that can modify human genotype. This allows humans to improve their body and even integrate mechanical parts into themselves. The add-on introduces a new soldier class as well – Mec Trooper - along with a special building to “produce” him, two types of aliens (Seeker and Mechtoid) and a new human organization, EXALT, trying to use alien technology to conquer the world. There are also new types of weapons, skills, and maps for multiplayer matches.

A dynamic racing game created by Bugbear Entertainment - a Finnish developer studio. The game references such franchises as Burnout or Destruction Derby, because in this competition causing as much damage as possible during the race is as much important as who crosses the finish line first. The player takes part in brutal races taking place on 48 different tracks filled with shortcuts and destructible objects. The game is arcade in terms of the driving physics, though car damage affects both the performance and the handling of the car. Flatout features an extensive single player campaign, during which the player buys new cars and upgrades them gradually. However, multiplayer competition was also included. Apart from regular races, the game offers destruction derbies and a series of crazy mini-games requiring the player mainly to launch the driver through the windshield.

SpellForce: The Order of Dawn features a TPP view, but you can also switch to bird's eye view, in which the strategic aspect of the game becomes more apparent. You have to build bases, manage your resources and technology, and train new soldiers. You can choose from six varied races (Men, Dwarves, Elves, Dark Elves, Orcs, and Trolls), each of which has a different development path, economy and combat skills. Apart from the story campaign, the game also features a multiplayer mode.

A standalone expansion for the second installment of the popular strategy game series, which is a remastered and extensively modified version of the original. The developers introduced a number of changes into the gameplay mechanics, making the game closer to a full-blooded RTS. This time around, the game's extensive economic aspect was abandoned, introducing simplified economy and castle building in order to focus on combat. Contrary to its predecessors, the plot is saturated with strong fantasy elements. The gameplay is divided into three independent campaigns dedicated to the eponymous legendary heroes: King Arthur, Sigurd, or Vlad the Impaler, known better as count Dracula. In every one of them, we will find events characteristic of the given character as well as unique units, siege engines, and defense system. Changes were also introduced in multiplayer which now features a completely new mode of war for resources, among other things.

The Settlers II: 10th Anniversary is a modern remake of the most popular installment of the cult strategy series The Settlers, released as the celebration of the game's tenth anniversary. Developers from Blue Byte studio created a new 10 mission campaign where we lead Romans who seek new lands in order to restore the fallen Empire. Our job is to systematically develop our country by building more and more outhouses and residential and military buildings that will provide us with resources, food, and soldiers. The game also offers a multiplayer mode for up to six players. The remastered version of The Settlers II uses the same engine as the fifth game in the series, though the developers managed to keep the fairy tale-like atmosphere of the original game. Models of all buildings and settlers are based on their original design. In order to enrich the game, some new features were introduced.

Rune: Ragnarok is an action RPG developed by Human Head, which is a sequel to the cult classic game called Rune, released in 2000. Rune: Ragnarok takes you to a fantasy realm based on the Nordic mythology. The game’s story starts seven years after the eponymous Ragnarok has begun. Despite the pervasive death and destruction, there is no end to the conflict. That’s why the remaining humans (including the protagonist) decide to take the initiative and slay all gods in order to put a stop to the apocalypse. While playing you explore a large open world, assault enemy settlements, sail the seas, complete missions, craft items, and develop your hero’s skills. The game’s heart is the expansive combat system, characterized by its focus on action and explicit brutality. An important role is also played by deities. The player can choose to worship one of them, which grants them access to a variety of special powers.

A direct sequel of the 2004 real-time strategy game from Elixir Studios. The continuation is developed by Rebellion studio, which decided to stick to a proven idea. Evil Genius 2 returns to the titular villain and his malicious plans. The story inspired by classic spy movies offers the same unique humor that first game became renowned for. The most important feature of the gameplay is the development of a secret super base – we build rooms with specific functions while also defending from attacks of law enforcers. We deal with crime fighters by sending out our henchmen, constructing fancy traps and equipping our soldiers with unusual weaponry. All of this is complemented by managing our financial and technological supply base, with our main source of income being more or less complicated missions that throw us to different parts of the world. Evil Genius 2 is the first RTS to use the Asura technology created by the British developers at Rebellion.
