A detective adventure game from the visual novel genre. It was developed by Japan studio Spike Chunsoft. The main protagonist of Danganronpa: Trigger Happy Havoc, Naegi Makoto, is a teenager who starts his education in an elite high school. In contrast to his colleagues, he has no remarkable achievements and he was accepted to the school by winning a lottery. Soon after the school year starts, Makoto and a group of other students are trapped inside the school building and a digitally-controlled mascot informs them that, in order to escape from the trap, one of them must murder someone else in such way that it will be impossible to find out who is guilty. The game is divided into three separate phases. First the player speaks with selected students, builds relations and learns interesting facts. When the murder happens, the player is tasked with gathering evidence and testimonies. Finally the action moves to a court room where during a trial one must find out who the murderer is through a series of minigames.

A hybrid of a platform and a survival game. The title was developed by two people – Joar Lisberg Jakobsson was the lead programmer and the author of the idea of the game while the music was composed by James Primate. The game takes place in a hostile post-industrial realm filled with complicated machinery. The environment is constantly plagued by downpours and the animals that live in it are forced to hide from the rain in a hibernated state. The main protagonist is Slugcat – a creature that is similar to a cat. It is tasked with gathering enough food to survive the forced resting time. What’s interesting, the ecosystem is filled both with creatures smaller than Slugcat and ones that are much larger. This makes the protagonist the hunter and the prey at the same time. The gameplay concentrates on visiting atmospheric locations, avoiding confrontation with larger predators and avoiding traps and other dangers. Luckily, the unusual protagonist isn’t completely defenseless – he can use a spear that allows him to kill or stun other creatures. Rain World can be played alone or in cooperation mode. Low-key colors and simple graphics fit the grim atmosphere of the game.

The first DLC expansion to the bestselling action RPG, Mount & Blade: Warband, from TaleWorlds. It is an improved version (supervised by the game's developers themselves) of a popular fan made modification Mount & Musket: Battalion, taking the players to the eventful time of Napoleonic wars. The title doesn’t feature a standard single player campaign, focusing only on multiplayer skirmishes, which have been greatly modified, when compared to the basic version of the game. The expansion introduces more than 220 accurately reconstructed units, which represent five main countries taking part in the conflict started by Napoleon. Among them we will find many types of infantry, cavalry, and artillery. One specific novelty is a special commander mode, in which we lead our own AI-controlled troops. The creators have also implemented new animations of surroundings and weather effects, resulting in much better visuals.

The gameplay takes place on three-dimensional maps that can be randomly generated on the basis of additional settings.

The expansion pack introduces many features that enable the player to make his city’s communication network more effective. Among these features there are tools that enable him to observe the traffic levels and to quickly react to any problems related to it. One of them is “route query” that enables the user to check routes and the way how the inhabitants of the world are traveling to their destinations. Additionally, Sim City 4: Rush Hour offers a special mission mode in which the player assumes control of a specific car or helicopter and uses it to remove the results of a disaster or to prevent a crime. In addition to that, the number of available means of transportation was increased, the city can become the victim of a disaster, and there are four new metropolis styles available. There are more than one hundred new objects available as well. It is worth mentioning that the expansion pack requires the basic version of the game to work.

In The Elder Scrolls II: Daggerfall, we assume the role of a hero who, ordered by the Emperor Uriel Septim VII, sets out to the eponymous city to investigate why the soul of King Lysandus was unable to rest in peace and why it haunts the city’s streets at night. As far as gameplay is concerned, the game does not deviate significantly from its predecessor and offers an even bigger world, twice the size of Great Britain, to explore. The title’s nonlinearity remains its biggest attraction, though. The huge amount of freedom of action allows us to develop the our hero in any and all ways as well as engage in a number of additional activities and side quests. Depending on the player’s choices, the production offers six different endings.

Faces of War features campaigns (one for each country: US, United Kingdom, Soviet Union and Third Reich), each of them involving an array of varied tasks. You get a specific number of troops, which you can issue orders to. The new elements are the extra soldiers, weapons, and vehicles, as well as a more advanced AI — your soldiers do quite well on the battlefield, even when you're not directly controlling them. The visuals, interface, and sound have also been improved. Faces of War features a single player mode and a multiplayer mode for up to sixteen participants.

The second part once again takes you to the streets of a virtual metropolis, and although it features only one city, it is much bigger than those in the first game. It is divided into three districts controlled by three local gangs. Players do various jobs for the gangs. With each successful mission their reputation in the group's ranks increases. As it was in the first game, while on a mission, the player can make use of a wide arsenal of weapons as well as more than 120 distinctive vehicles. This time, however, it's not just the police that are trying to get in your way; you will be facing SWAT, FBI, and even the army. Gameplay is presented in top-down perspective, although the graphics are more colorful than before, and accompanied by radio music playing each time you are driving a car.

System Shock 2 brings a continuation to a an acclaimed action game featuring RPG elements, combining classic science-fiction elements with cyberpunk. The second installment was once again created by Looking Glass, this time however, supported by Irrational Games. The game is set 40 years after the events depicted in the original System Shock, when the UNN military organization tries to limit the power of great corporations, using a state-of-the-art spaceship called Von Braun to do so. The player takes on the role of a volunteer who wakes up during the vessel's first flight and finds out that the crew is dead and the ship is overrun by dangerous mutants and rebellious robots. The mechanics of the original System Shock were changed to a certain degree - elements of action, role-playing and adventure games were complemented this time by a portion of features associated with the survival horror genre. Furthermore, the character development mechanics were expanded. The player chooses one of three available classes differing in skills they offer.

The action of the game takes place in a fairytale realm called the Crossroads of Dream. When the world is threatened by an invasion of dark creatures called Hoodlums, the titular protagonist and his friends decide to save it. During the game the player will visit various fantasy realms, jump between numerous platforms (the action is shown from side perspective and the player can move in four directions), get past various traps, obtain new abilities and fight enemies encountered on the path. There is more than a dozen types of enemies, as well as much more powerful bosses. What's more, the game contains levels in which the protagonist mounts other creatures (for example a giant mosquito) and rides it through large areas. Cooperation mode is a novelty in the series – it allows the player to complete all levels while accompanied by up to three friends. The colorful, beautiful graphics generated by UbiArt Framework are a valuable asset to the game. Colorful locations are accompanied by neatly-animated characters and a catchy soundtrack.

A fast-paced first-person shooter developed by Polish studio People Can Fly. In Painkiller the player assumes the role of Daniel Garner, who upon dying has been assigned to stop the armies of hell led by Lucifer himself. The story told in the game is linear and the campaign is split into five chapters, each one consisting of several levels. The gameplay is based on fighting hordes of enemies – all sorts of creatures coming straight from hell as well as even more powerful bosses. Fortunately, the protagonist is far from being defenseless against those enemies – in combat he uses a vast arsenal of creative weapons, starting with classic shotguns and rocket launchers to the famous Stakegun or the so-called Shuriken-do Gun. Painkiller is characterized by high-quality graphics and realistic physics simulated by Havok 2.

We assume the role of Parker, who becomes a member, and later the leader of the rebellion aimed at overthrowing the current state of affairs, and proceeds to reveal the secret of the plague. During the gameplay, the players have 15 types of weapons at their disposal, and the ability to control various land, air or sea vehicles. A huge asset of the game is the use of Geo-Mod, an innovative technology allowing for increased interaction with the environment and the ability to modify it by, for example, breaking through walls using explosives. The whole game is complemented by a multiplayer mode for up to 32 players.

There it turns out that the humanity's foes have discovered a powerful artifact, which can turn the tide of the war. The mechanics of the remastered edition do not differ much from the original ones. However, the production features enhanced visuals in HD and better textures. The online options of the game have also been expanded.

An oldschool shooter inspired by arcade classics. Sky Force Reloaded was produced by Polish studio Infinite Dreams, the creators of the two previous installments in the series: Sky Force from 2004 and Sky Force from 2014. In the game the player controls a fighter jet which automatically flies in one direction (towards the top of the screen). Player is tasked with shooting down incoming enemy units and avoiding being hit or crashing into obstacles. It is a good idea to collect various bonuses which provide temporary power-ups and allows you to equip the vehicle with better weapons. In addition to regular enemy aircraft the player will face powerful bosses, encounters with which will require good reflexes and dexterity. Another attraction are the optional missions, during which one must save civilians. These missions are very risky but completing them grants exceptional awards. Sky Force Reloaded offers many varied levels and colorful special effects which enrich the graphics of the game.

The 9th main entry in a classic jRPG series, originally released in 2000 on PlayStation console, and ported to PC ten year later. After a few games featuring slightly cyberpunkish settings, Final Fantasy IX returns to the roots of the series, where we are once again met by knights, princesses, and dragons. Players take the role of a young thief, who, together with a company of other heroes, faces the evil queen Brahna, who is responsible for the outbreak of a great war. However, as it turns out, the queen has been nothing more than a pawn in the hands of a much more dangerous enemy. In terms of game mechanics, the game is a combination of proven solutions with some limited innovations, such as a redesigned profession system or ATE mode (Active Time Event), which allows us to see what other team members are doing, give access to numerous side quests and a chance to collect various useful items.

An unordinary action-adventure game which uses the style and tune of the 60s. The title was created by an independent studio Compulsion Games known for creating Contrast, a title that used similar style. In the game, the player travels to a fictional town in which, due to indoctrination and a wonderful drug, the citizens are constantly happy and all traits of dissatisfaction are immediately eliminated. The protagonist is one of the defiant citizens who are resistant to the system. In order to survive in the surrounding world, he must observe it thoroughly and understand its rules. The action is shown from first-person perspective and the gameplay is focused on exploration, and gathering various items and using them. While doing it, players must behave according to the social norms so that other citizens don’t become suspicious. The world of the game was characteristically exaggerated, but the game tells about many very important topics.

A strategy card game set in the universe of a well-known RPG series that has been developed since 1994 by Bethesda Softworks. In terms of game mechanics, The Elder Scrolls: Legends takes after the competing Hearthstone: Heroes of Warcraft, and the gameplay comes down to dueling with a self-built deck of cards representing heroes, equipment, spells, skills etc. The game combines storytelling elements and characters known from previous installment of the series, such as the legendary Morrowind, Oblivion, and Skyrim, as well as The Elders Scrolls Online.
