A steampunk action-adventure game with logic features. The title was developed by the independent studio Micropsia Games from Chile. The Watchmaker takes place inside a giant clock tower, and during the game the player assumes the role of a guard named Alexander. One day, a sabotage takes place in the tower, disrupting the flow of time and causing the protagonist to grow old extremely fast. In order to avoid death before his time, he must travel through subsequent sections of the tower to find and defeat the person responsible for the sabotage. He must also restore the proper flow of time. The game combines features of an adventure game, a 3D platform game and a logic game. The main focus was placed on solving various environmental riddles, but the game also contains typical action sequences and boss fights, during which the protagonist uses a variety of useful gadgets. The fact that the protagonist is getting older was used as a creative replacement for the classic health bar.

Sonic Heroes is a position climatically referring to the best parts of the series with the title hedgehog in the lead role. The gameplay is characterized by high dynamics (various platforms, turns, circles in the air, etc.), lots of jumps or skies (launchers, hills) and (but less often) forceful elimination of enemies.

Ballance is a low-budget arcade-logic game, prepared by the German studio Cyparade. As is usually the case with such products, the plot is the least important element of the programme. There is simply a ball that has to get from one point to another through a space-based corridor full of canals, tunnels and ramps. Initially, the task is not particularly complicated. It is only during the course of defeating successive boards that more and more elements characteristic for logical games, in which you have to sharply move the brain, appear.

Goat Simulator is a humorous simulator that serves as a commercial extension of the joke game made by Swedish Coffee Stain (known primarily from the Sanctum series). The game lets you control a crazy goat named Pilgor which destroys everything in the virtual world. The goal is to cause as much damage as possible with the use of a wide range of absurd accessories, like rockets, explosives, etc. It was the developers’ ambition to create a big cliché parody, mocking low-budget simulators. Therefore, Goat Simulator features loads of purposely implemented humorous bugs. The editor gives you a chance to create your own levels and share them with others through the Internet. On the technical side, the game utilizes the power of Unreal Engine 3.

A three-dimensional platformer inspired by classics like Banjo-Kazooie, Conker’s Bad Fur Day and Donkey Kong 64, developed by the independent studio Mecha the Slag. A Hat in Time lets us play as Hat Kid, a girl who travels in time, fights villains and solves numerous puzzles. During the campaign, we visit five varied worlds and try to foil the plan of Mustache Girl. Hat Kid uses a special umbrella that acts as e.g. parachute, weapon and even propeller. She must face not only arcade challenges – like environmental obstacles and enemies to beat – but also puzzles of various kinds, which sometimes can only be solved by manipulating time. Aside from a single player campaign, there is a cooperation mode for two players. A Hat in Time uses three-dimensional, cartoonish visuals, based on the console-exclusive hit The Legend of Zelda: The Wind Waker.

A two-dimensional platform game, the gameplay of which references classic installments of the series. The story of the game takes place before the events told in the first installment of the series. The action of the game takes place in a fairytale realm called the Crossroads of Dream. When the world is threatened by an invasion of dark creatures called Hoodlums, the titular protagonist and his friends decide to save it. During the game the player will visit various fantasy realms, jump between numerous platforms (the action is shown from side perspective and the player can move in four directions), get past various traps, obtain new abilities and fight enemies encountered on the path. There is more than a dozen types of enemies, as well as much more powerful bosses. What's more, the game contains levels in which the protagonist mounts other creatures (for example a giant mosquito) and rides it through large areas. Cooperation mode is a novelty in the series – it allows the player to complete all levels while accompanied by up to three friends. The colorful, beautiful graphics generated by UbiArt Framework are a valuable asset to the game. Colorful locations are accompanied by neatly-animated characters and a catchy soundtrack.

An expanded version of a popular indie game that has been released in 2011 by Team Meat studio. Nicalis studio, a bit more experienced team, has been involved in refreshing of the title, in cooperation with original developers. When it comes to mechanics, the gameplay hasn’t changed much, offering randomly-generated levels, traversed by the titular Isaac, who solves simple puzzles and eliminates monsters or much more powerful bosses. The main difference between the Flash-based original, is a completely new graphic engine, introducing new, improved visuals and a number of innovations that, as a result of technological limitations, hadn’t made their way into the original. The developers included the whole base game and its two DLCs, and introduced a number of novelties. A local co-op mode has been incorporated in the game, allowing two players to take part in a joint playthrough on one screen.

A hybrid of a platform and a survival game. The title was developed by two people – Joar Lisberg Jakobsson was the lead programmer and the author of the idea of the game while the music was composed by James Primate. The game takes place in a hostile post-industrial realm filled with complicated machinery. The environment is constantly plagued by downpours and the animals that live in it are forced to hide from the rain in a hibernated state. The main protagonist is Slugcat – a creature that is similar to a cat. It is tasked with gathering enough food to survive the forced resting time. What’s interesting, the ecosystem is filled both with creatures smaller than Slugcat and ones that are much larger. This makes the protagonist the hunter and the prey at the same time. The gameplay concentrates on visiting atmospheric locations, avoiding confrontation with larger predators and avoiding traps and other dangers. Luckily, the unusual protagonist isn’t completely defenseless – he can use a spear that allows him to kill or stun other creatures. Rain World can be played alone or in cooperation mode. Low-key colors and simple graphics fit the grim atmosphere of the game.
