A full-fledged remake of Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a TPP stealth game telling the story of Naked Snake, an operative trying to survive in a jungle and stop the Soviets from changing the course of the world.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater is a full remake of the cult stealth game from 2004, titled Metal Gear Solid 3: Snake Eater. The company responsible for developing and releasing this production is Konami, which oversees the brand.
In Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater the action is viewed from a third-person perspective (TPP). The remake draws from the original's legacy, however the mechanics have been refreshed and adapted to modern standards. In carrying out the missions set before us, we must act quietly, hiding in the branches of trees, in bushes or thick grass, and often also diving.
Camouflage helps us hide from adversaries, which we must appropriately match to the environment. Apart from hostile people, we encounter wild animals on our way. We deal with enemies by using firearms and gadgets, fighting hand-to-hand or using traps.
The game also implemented some elements typical of survival productions. The injuries are presented in the form of traumas to individual body parts, which we need to treat in a timely manner in the appropriate way to avoid complications. Additionally, our character must eat, thereby replenishing the stamina indicator. It should not be forgotten that the collected food may start to spoil over time.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater presents us with an alternative version of the Cold War history. The action of this production takes place in the Soviet Union in the 1960s. The main character of the game, an agent known as Naked Snake, ends up there to rescue Sokolov - a scientist and outstanding weapons designer, who is in the hands of the communists. He is working on a tank named Shagohod, capable of firing nuclear missiles.
Although the operation initially goes according to plan, things quickly get complicated. Not only does the protagonist end up alone in the jungle, but he also gets entangled in a plot of much larger caliber, which could potentially determine the outcome of the Cold War and the fate of the entire world. The protagonist is not doomed to a solitary journey, as friends accompany him on the way, providing him with support.
Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater can boast a thoroughly refreshed graphic design. All of the voice actors who appeared in the original have returned in the remake.
One of the novelties in the remake of Metal Gear Solid 3 is an online multiplayer mode called Fox Hunt. It is based on competitive gameplay, in which players must use stealth and survival mechanics (like camouflage) to defeat opponents.

So, the big question is this worth revisiting with the HD collection with the original already existing. For me it is a mixed bag. I loved revisiting this absolute classic. The new visuals really do look amazing, and the minor quality of life improvements make it easier to just enjoy the game. Still, I would have loved to see so much more included or updated.

Metal Gear Solid Delta: Snake Eater does exactly what we wanted it to. It's a way to play the PS2 classic on modern hardware, with a fresh coat of paint, and contemporary controls. While those looking for a more expansive remake may be left wanting, translating much of MGS 5's excellent gameplay to the PS2 classic is more than enough for us. After a difficult decade, Metal Gear is back.
