A rhythm game developed for PlayStation 4. DJMAX Respect is a special annual installment of the DJMAX series which was started in 2004 by the Korean company Neowiz. Similarly to Guitar Hero or Rock Band, it uses a vertical board divided into several tracks where colorful bricks appear and move down towards the bottom. Each track is assigned a gamepad button which we have to press when a brick is in the corresponding field.

An arcade rhythm/music game developed by Marvelous AQL. IA/VT Colorful allows players to cover the songs from various Japanese artists performed by vocaloid IA - a special application built from real voice samples that adds a virtual voice to music tracks. The gameplay is similar to games from the Project Diva series. Players gradually unlock new songs, and complete them on one of three difficulty levels.

A premium mobile logic puzzle game by Honig Studios, up until now known from educational programs. Impossible Bottles follows the story of a scientist, who wants to create an inexhaustible source of energy for all the people in the world. To achieve that, he builds gigantic mechanical golems that produce energy. However, they don't work properly, so your task is to find solutions to all the technical problems.

A music action game released by an independent studio – Drool. The development team includes individuals who have cooperated with Harmonix Music Systems. The players are tasked with defeating CRAKHED – a large, crazy head from the future that is threatening the world. The action is presented from a third-person perspective, with the main character being a space beetle.

Another entry in the BIT.TRIP series – 2D auto runner platformers – developed by Gaijin Entertainment. The plot of Runner3 is a continuation of the adventures of CommenderVideo, the hero from the previous games. The gameplay didn't change much when compared to the previous titles but there are a few new features and improvements which are the result of community feedback.

PaRappa the Rapper Remastered is a remaster of the music game released on PlayStation in 1996 and on PSP ten years later. We play as the titular rapping dog who tries his best to win the heart of his crush, Sunny Funny. PaRappa is aided by his two friends, cat enthusiast Katy Kat and the chubby bear PJ Berri, in his musical stunts. Gameplay did not change at all and remains the same as in the original game: PaRappa has to do many things to impress Sunny Funny.

A light-hearted music game, released exclusively for PlayStation Vita. The developers responsible for Superbeat: Xonic are known for DJMax, a popular music game series, and have changed the studio name to Nurijoy in 2014. The gameplay in Superbeat: Xonic is based on pressing in the right moment the discs that move on the screen. Depending on the discs’ colors, we either hold or move some of them in the chosen direction.

The game tells the story of Chelsea - a high school student, who loves to sing and decides to form a band with five of her friends. The player learns about the group’s successes from Chelsea’s journal, the entries of which can be unlocked as the story progresses. One’s objective is to help the young musicians in their rehearsals and concerts.

A narrative musical game with arcade elements. Developed by Danish Cape Copenhagen, The Gentleman is set during the Great Depression (1928–1933) and tells a story about a great love of the titular gentleman, a street performer named Fred, and a young girl Lisa. The feeling they share is not approved by her father – wealthy entrepreneur Johnathan Joseph Price the Third. The powerful magnate has devoted his life to accumulating a fortune.

An upgraded version of Chime – a well-received mix of a logic and a rhythm game released in 2010. The new edition does not differ much from its predecessor – we are given a grid that is gradually filled with player-inserted blocks creating quads – rectangle and square shaped fields that are at least 3x3 in size. Completed figures unlock the further parts of the music track that accompany our actions.

A science-fiction rhythm game developed Mad Fellows. Aaero does not offer an elaborate narrative layer, focusing on allowing the player to control a small ship hovering above ground and fight the enemies that appear on the screen. The ship’s movements can be controlled with the analog sticks. The player is tasked with following the precise track and sticking to a white ribbon, which boosts the score multiplier.

One of the first modern rhythmic games. PaRappa the Rapper tells the story of a rap dog who, in order to impress his sympathy Sunny Funny, starts learning kung-fu and takes a driving license. The game consists of pressing the sequence of buttons displayed on the screen. The more precise the player is, the better the score is.

Adventure canceled

A rhythmic adventure game in which the essence of the game are battles for words. In comparison to other productions of this type, this title stands out due to the original mechanics of the game. The songs take on the role of extended dialogue trees, in which subsequent issues are arranged in successive lines. Success guarantees not only the right rhymes, but also enriching the tracks with the right emotional charge, fitting in with the weakness of a particular opponent.

An extended edition of The Metronomicon - a PC game, which came out in 2016. This new version was enriched with an expansion pack Slay the Dance Floor and released for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. Importantly, owners of the PC edition received the DLC for free. The game is a mixture of an RPG and a rhythm game, such as e.g. Guitar Hero. The player is given an opportunity to assume control of a team comprised of different characters fighting to the rhythm of music.

Theatrhythm Dragon Quest is a rhythm game with RPG elements. It is the third game in the series. Two previous installments focused on the music and characters from the iconic Final Fantasy series. This time, Square Enix decided to connect the game with the lesser known Dragon Quest series. As we play, we will hear dozens of pieces of music used in the Dragon Quest games. Gameplay in Theatrhythm Dragon Quest is based on the same mechanics as the previous games.

Similarly to the previous installments of the series, the gameplay is focused around an uncomplicated premise – we have to beat out a rhythm on taiko drums, using a few buttons that correspond with the symbols appearing on the screen. The difficulty level, chosen before starting the game, determines the frequency of their appearance and the type of additional challenges.

Crypt of the NecroDancer lets us play as a girl named Cadence, who sets on a journey to find her missing father. It leads her to the mysterious crypt ruled by an evil demon known as NecroDancer. It casts an unusual curse on the protagonist, making her heart always beat in rhythm of a music.
