Blue gas in Vanaheim

Blue poisonous gas above the ground is one of several environmental hazards you must deal with in Vanaheim. You will visit this world for the first time during The Reckoning main quest.

Entering an area covered with gas means a quick death for Kratos. Do not approach them if you do not follow the steps from the next subsection.

How to temporarily get rid of toxic gas?

You can deal with poisonous gas in 2 ways - both methods are similar.

The first method involves throwing Leviathan at plants that emit gas - we've highlighted an example in the picture.

The plant will be frozen and stop spraying the poison temporarily. Use the new passage and, after getting far enough away from the plant, summon the axe to you (the poisonous gas will again appear behind your back).

The second method has to be used when there are two poisonous plants next to each other. Hitting only one of them with the axe will not solve the problem, because the other plant will still be emitting gas.

You can come across them when traveling with a new ally in Vanaheim - you can ask your companion to hit plants with sigil arrows. When a sigil appears next to the plant, throw Leviathan at it. Quickly do the same with the second plant.

Sigil arrows will allow you to freeze both plants at the same time - the picture above shows an example.
