Finding yellow crystal blockades

You will start coming across yellow barricades made of crystals while exploring Svartalfheim - example in the picture. Kratos cannot destroy them with his melee weapons (Leviathan or Blades of Chaos).

Yellow blockades can lead to locations with treasures or to places that are part of a quest.

How to destroy a yellow barricade?

The first way to destroy yellow barricades is the more common. You need to find a red jug next to the barricade - we have marked an example in the picture. Red jugs are easy to spot next to some blockades, while in other cases you may have to stand in a different place to spot them.

Throw the Leviathan at the jug to detonate it and destroy the barricade.

The second method is available only in those locations where you can find Fire Fombs - the image above shows an example of where to obtain them (Lygnbakr Island). Kratos can repeatedly return to locations with bombs.

Take the bomb to the yellow blockade and throw it. The explosion will destroy the barricade.

Some of the blockades are clearly far away from the places with bombs. Memorize them and go back after getting the bomb - there's a good chance that it will help you reach secrets or valuable loot.
