American McGee Prepares New Game Based on Wizard of Oz

American McGee, creator of such titles as Alice: Madness Returns or Bad Day L.A., will create a game based on Wizard of Oz. The same project will include a TV series from Radar Pictures.

Renowned video game designer American McGee announced, via his social media, two new works in development with Radar Pictures as part of OZ: Adventures. We're talking about a TV series, which will soon be advertised by one of the most recognizable streaming platforms (we don't know which one) , and a video game. Both titles, as you can probably guess, will be author's interpretation of Lyman Frank Baum's iconic novel The Wizard of Oz.

You can find out more about the project from Americana McGee's two-hour broadcast on Twitch, which has been archived so that everyone can watch it at their leisure. It was mentioned that OZ: Adventures will be a single-player narrative game divided into parts. Each episode will take place in a different era, which also means different characters and many different storylines. Everything, of course, takes place in the Land of Oz.

Before that, however, there will probably be another production by American McGee, that is Alice: Asylum (working name) - another part of the action adventure game series set in another fairy-tale world, which is the universe of Alice in Wonderland. So far we don't know the release date of any of the aforementioned upcoming titles.

Then he interpreted Iranian dramas and the Joker, writing for cinematography journal, which, sadly, no longer exists. His writing credentials include a degree in film studies, but his thesis was strictly devoted to video games. He has been writing for Gamepressure since March 2020, first writing a lot about movies, then in the newsroom, and eventually, he became a specialist in everything. He currently edits and writes articles and features. A long-time enthusiast of the most bizarre indie games and arthouse cinema. He idolizes surrealism and postmodernism. He appreciates the power of absurdity. Which is probably why he also tried soccer refereeing for 2 years (with so-so results). He tends to over-philosophize, so watch out.
