Activision has revealed the initial system requirements for Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 beta, which will begin in a few days.
We learned the system requirements of Call of Duty: Modern Warfare II - at least for the duration of the planned beta tests, which will begin at the end of the week. We have posted the minimum and recommended PC specs below.
Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 has similar requirements to last year's Vanguard. Suggested GPUs have remained unchanged compared to the last installment.
Worse is the case with the CPU. This time, the minimum requirements list models that are identical or as powerful as those that made their way into the recommended ones a year ago. The recommended amount of RAM has also increased, from 12 to 16 GB.
There is definitely nothing to delude ourselves that the full version of the new CoD will only take up 25 GB on disk. Even if the developers actually manage to keep their promise and solve the "obesity" problem after the next multiplayer mode updates, Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will probably require a lot of storage.
Nevertheless, it is worth noting that 25 GB is less than what was required during beta testing of Vanguard (36 GB), Black Ops: Cold War (45 GB) or Modern Warfare of 2019 (45 GB). The first of these games even managed not to exceed 100 GB at launch. So maybe CoD: MW2 together with Warzone 2 will indeed not require the players to buy a new disk?
Of course, keep in mind that the requirements may still change by the time the game is released. Call of Duty: Modern Warfare 2 will launch on October 28 on PC, Xbox One, PlayStation 4, Xbox Series X/S and PlayStation 5. Those who will pre-order the game will be able to check out the campaign of Modern Warfare 2 a week before the official release.
