Is Elden Ring Too Easy? We Checked How Players Deal With Bosses

FromSoftware declared that Elden Ring will be a bit easier game than other works of the studio. And I guess it really is - PlayStation's „platinum” achievement was unlocked by twelve out of one hundred players.

Some time ago we brought you some interesting stats on Elden Ring. They were meant to reflect how PC and PlayStation players fared against the various major bosses in FromSoftware's latest game. Today we decided to update this data, because there was simply something to it. It turns out that as many as twelve out of one hundred PS4 and PS5 players have unlocked Platinum (meaning they've unlocked all of the game's forty-two trophies).

SPOILER ALERT

The rest of the news contains spoilers from Elden Ring. So if you want your first contact with the game to be as unspoiled experience as possible, better skip further reading.

Bosses in Elden Ring

It's no coincidence that the PlayStation community is the first to be mentioned - as it was a week ago, its members are outpacing those on Steam, and the gap between their achievements is widening. Suffice it to say that in the case of each boss, the increase in the percentage of players who managed to defeat it is about 3-10 percentage points in favor of Sony console owners. It can be concluded that they cope with individual bosses better - and certainly faster - than their colleagues on PC.

Endings in Elden Ring

This also applies to the frequency of reaching individual game endings. On PS4 and PS5, each of the three finales of Elden Ring was seen by double-digit percentage of players. And on PC? Of the related achievements, the most people - 7.8% to be exact - earned the one identified as "Star Century."

Too easy?

The number is undoubtedly smaller, but still quite large - especially when you consider that Elden Ring was released just two and a half weeks ago. So is FromSoftware's new game too easy? You can find such voices on the web, and apparently there is a grain of truth in them. For comparison - "platinum" in 2015's Bloodborne was unlocked by 21,54% PlayStation players. The full set of achievements in Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice - 27,39% of people on Sony consoles and 8,1% on Steam. While in Dark Souls III it was 17,83% and 3,4% respectively.

One must take into account, of course, that at this point in time Elden Ring has found its way into the hands of a much narrower group of players than the aforementioned games. Consequently, the percentages are distributed among a smaller number of people, most of whom may be veterans of FromSoftware games. Nevertheless, the results presented in the tables above are impressive. If this keeps up, Elden Ring - despite its size - may turn out to be the most completed title by this Japanese studio.
