Character development in Rise of the Ronin is done via spending skill points to unlock new abilities from the character trees, but there may be a situation where you've bought the wrong skills and want to start from scratch. On this guide page, we explain how to reset skills, change the Blade Sharpening Origin, and perform the so-called skill respec so you can allocate skill points again.

How to obtain or purchase Brush Kit?

1. Respec is not an option available freely in the game. To be able to perform it, you need to obtain a rare consumable - Brush Kit.
2. One of the opportunities to get a Brush Kit free of charge is during The Sakurada Gate Incident story quest - this is the final mission of Act 1.
3. It is among the rewards for completing the said mission, so you receive a first opportunity to respec right after the start of Act 2.

1. Brush Kit can also be bought. Wait until you receive access to the first longhouse in Yokohama. Right next to the longhouse, there should be a Black Marketeer.
2. The sought item should be in the second tab of the merchant window. Brush Kit is paid for with silver coins (this currency can be obtained, among others, for completing selected quests or finding cats).

How to perform a respec?

1. From the description of the Brush Set, we read that it can Reset Special Skills.
2. Return to the longhouse in the region you're currently in. Go to Relax tab and choose Blade Repair option from the list.

1. Now you can choose a different Blade Sharpening Origin, which is the main archetype of the hero which was chosen for the first time in the character creator at the beginning of the game.

1. After choosing the Blade Sharpening Origin, you can redistribute all the skill points you have collected - this is called a respec.
2. You can spend normal Skill Points and Rare Skill Points that are connected to specific skill trees.
3. You don't have to spend all skill points right away. For example, you can close this window (OPTIONS button) and after leaving the longhouse, at any moment open the Skills tab. Your points will safely wait, and there is no risk of losing them.
