Expedition 33: How to defeat the Chromatic Greatsword Cultist boss?

Where is the Chromatic Greatsword Cultist?

The Chromatic Greatsword Cultist is located in Sirene, a location related to the main story. You will find her at the end of the side path near the Dancing Classes flag. The boss is optional and defeating it is not required to make progress in the game.

Chromatic Greatsword Cultist's attacks

1. Blood-coated sword - the cultist pierces herself with the sword and then deals six area attacks. First, she makes three quick, rhythmic slashes - you have to jump over the third one. Then there is a moment of pause, followed by another three quick rhythmic attacks. Listen for the sound of cutting through the air and parry immediately when you hear it.
2. Jump - the cultist will pierce herself with the sword and jump into the air, performing a single strike. Parry when she finishes spinning the sword in the air and you hear the characteristic sound.

How to defeat the Chromatic Greatsword Cultist?

The cultist is vulnerable to darkness and resistant to light. The biggest problem in this fight will be the opponent's shields - before each attack, she applies the maximum possible amount of shields to herself, which is nine. You will have to get rid of them with firearms, skills that deal multiple attacks, or Maelle's Breaking Rules ability. It's worth learning to parry her combinations - this will give you enough action points to be able to get rid of her shields with firearms. Sciel is a good choice for this fight thanks to her skills dealing dark damage.

For defeating the Chromatic Greatsword Cultist, you will receive:

1. 81,090 XP;
2. 5,287 Chroma;
3. Sireso - a weapon for Verso,
4. Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x2;
