Expedition 33: How to defeat the Chromatic Ramasseur boss?

Where is the Chromatic Ramasseur?

The Chromatic Ramasseur is located in Visages, a mandatory location that you need to explore to complete the game. The boss can be found in the Sadness Vale, one of the side areas of this location. The boss is optional and defeating it is not required to make progress in the game.

Chromatic Ramasseur's attacks

1. Nevron arm combo - the Ramasseur jumps at you and deals four blows. The first two are quick swings. Then, after a very short break, two more quick swings will follow. Occasionally, after a brief pause, the boss will repeat this combo once again.
2. Deadly strike - Rammaseur jumps at you and deals one blow. This attack instantly kills your character. Parry or dodge - this attack is not preceded by any recognizable visual signs. The easiest way will be to listen to the boss - just before the blow, the boss will screech (it sounds a bit like "ooh-aa-ooh-aa").

How to defeat the Chromatic Ramasseur?

While facing the Chromatic Ramasseur, you won't have a chance to attack. The boss's turn never ends, at least not until you fill his break bar, which you can only do with counterattacks. So equip Pictos that enhance parrying and counterattacks. The boss is resistant to Dark, so don't equip weapons of that element. If you have the First Strike Picto or lumina, the first turn is yours. It's best to use it to strengthen the team, for example by applying Powerful to everyone to strengthen their counterattacks or a Shell to reduce the damage received.

Keep parrying and when the break bar fills up, the boss will automatically be stunned. Then, revive the fallen members of your team and use your most powerful attacks - you should have enough AP for that thanks to continuous parrying. Hence, Lune is a poor choice for this fight - she needs several turns to gather stains that enhance her attacks, which she won't have the opportunity to do in this fight.

Rewards for defeating the Chromatic Ramasseur

For defeating the Chromatic Ramasseur, you will receive:

1. 61,598 XP;
2. 4,410 Chroma;
3. Picto - Augmented Counter II - damage from counterattacks is increased by 50%.
4. Resplendent Chroma Catalyst x2;
5. Colour of Lumina x5.
